Cellphone Popcorn?

This video has several people putting cell phones near popcorn kernels. A few seconds later you can see the popcorn kernels popping into popcorn. Real or fake?
We think this is a fake. Probably a viral video made by a company like Kobe Bryant jumping over an Ashton Martin pitching Nike Hyperdunk shoes. We don’t know if this video is trying to sell popcorn, cellphones, or something else.

Update:

The video is a viral campaign for Cardo Bluetooth Headset.

Ni Hao, Kai-lan gets 2nd season

Nick Jr. has announced the pickup of a second season of the hit animated preschool series Ni Hao, Kai-lan. The network has ordered 20 new half-hour episodes of the series that introduces preschoolers to Mandarin language and Chinese culture as they go on interactive adventures in Kai-lan’s beautiful, culturally-rich world. Production on the second season, scheduled to premiere on Nick Jr. in winter 2009, will kick off in August in Burbank, California.

Ni Hao, Kai-lan, which launched Feb. 7, 2008 on Nick Jr., consistently ranks among the top five preschool programs on all commercial television. The series currently ranks as the number-two show on Nick Jr., right behind Dora the Explorer. Ni Hao, Kai-lan airs regularly weekdays at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr.

You can find the Ni Hao, Kai-lan T-shirt line currently in Forever 21 stores across the country, as well as a DVD to launch in August 2008. Look for more merchandise coming soon including toys, accessories, publishing, stationery and more.

Ni Hao, Kai-lan, created by Karen Chau and executive produced by Mary Harrington, is an original, half-hour series that teaches Mandarin words and phrases, for the first time on television. Ni Hao, Kai-lan is also Nick Jr.’s first play-along, think-along series to feature an intergenerational family. Through the eyes of a five-year-old Chinese-American girl named Kai-lan, the series explores the colorful aspects of her upbringing and background, her relationships with her family and friends and the world around her. Ni Hao, Kai-lan also helps preschoolers identify their emotions and learn coping mechanisms to deal with their feelings.

The Yao Ming Foundation

Houston Rockets center Yao Ming announced the launch of “The Yao Ming Foundation” at a press conference at Toyota Center. The foundation, under the auspices of The Giving Back Fund, will help raise funds and awareness of children’s wellness and welfare issues in China and the United States.

May 12, 2008 will forever be a date to remember, as China’s Sichuan and Gansu provinces fell victim to the devastation of a deadly earthquake. The Yao Ming Foundation will respond to this tragedy as its first initiative by creating a call to action and inviting others to follow. The foundation’s primary earthquake relief efforts will focus on rebuilding earthquake-resistant, high-quality schools.

“It is very hard to put into words how difficult it is to see this kind of destruction,” said Yao. “My thoughts and actions are now focused on helping to rebuild the schools that were destroyed in this tragedy and I hope that others around the world will join in our efforts.”

Yao begins the relief efforts by making an initial, personal commitment of $2 million US dollars. Houston Rockets Owner Leslie Alexander presented The Yao Ming Foundation with a gift of $100,000 through the team’s charitable organization, The Clutch City Foundation. Cold Stone Creamery pledged a minimum donation of $100,000 to be raised through an in-store promotion in China, where a percentage of sales will go to The Yao Ming Foundation. Fellow NBA players Steve Nash, Baron Davis, Greg Oden, Raymond Felton, Andris Biedrins, Marko Jaric and Marcus Williams along with WNBA player Diana Taurasi also donated to the foundation. Houston Mayor Bill White presented The Yao Ming Foundation with over $100,000 in donations from Houston companies and private contributors.

More than 8,000 schoolrooms and 185 schools were destroyed during the 8.0 earthquake in China. A donation of $100,000 will rebuild a permanent school for approximately 300 students while a gift of $3,500 will provide one prefabricated classroom for 50 students, including desks and chairs. Yao will support all of the foundation’s administrative costs. A full 100% of all contributions from the public will go directly to earthquake relief. This video was made on the passion and love for dance. We made it for no other reason and it was made with no other means. We didn’t buy this video. We made it by calling friends and people we knew and asked if they wanted to donate their time and energy to be a part of the video. The best part of making this video was seeing people jump on board and be as passionate about dance as we are.
