Lil Demon on ACDC Crew

Jon M. Chu promotes his Step Up 2 DVD release, but also introduces us to Lil Demon aka Anjelo. This little kid is now an honorary member of the ACDC Crew. We can see why after watching this video. His sickest move is a backflip into the worm. Also Jon M. Chu alludes to the upcoming LIVE M&M Cru vs ACDC Crew battle coming soon…

Ichiro and Fukudome in MLB All-Star Game

Both Ichiro Suzuki and Kosuke Fukudome were selected play in the 79th MLB All-Star Game. The two outfielders will play for their respective divisions Ichiro Suzuki for the American League and Kosuke Fukudome for the National League. Eight-time All-Star Ichiro Suzuki, representing the Seattle Mariners, will hit leadoff and start in right field. Chicago Cubs representative Kosuke Fukudome becomes an MLB All-Star team in his rookie season. It’s not suprising that he’s an MLB All-Star, since he was a four-time All-Star in Japan (he was selected a fifth time in 2006 but declined the invitation due to injury). Tune in tonight at 8 pm ET on FOX and watch the Japanese All-Stars take the field.

Step Up 2 DVD release

Step Up 2 isn’t the The Biggest Dance Battle in Youtube History, it’s the directorial debut of Jon M. Chu. The 2004 USC graduate recruited dancers off of YouTube and MySpace to be part of Step Up 2. (One of those dancers is Adam Sevani aka Moose. Without Adam, the ACDC Crew would not have been created.) Jabbawockeez was also in the film before they won America’s Best Dance Crew. The rain sequence in the movie is also Jon M Chu’s idea inspired from “Dancing in the Rain.”

Here’s the synopsis for Step Up 2

“Step Up 2 the Streets” is the follow-up to the smash hit “Step Up,” which ignited theaters in August 2006. When rebellious street dancer Andie (Briana Evigan) lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, she finds herself fighting to fit in while also trying to hold onto her old life. When she joins forces with the school’s hottest dancer Chase (Robert Hoffman) to form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in Baltimore’s underground dance battle The Streets, she ultimately finds a way to live her dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds.

Featuring the directorial debut of award-winning up-and-comer Jon M. Chu, “Step Up 2 the Streets” reunites much of the production team behind the original film including “Step Up’s” cutting-edge hip-hop choreographer Jamal Sims, who is joined this time by choreographers Hi-Hat (“hip-hop’s high diva of dance”) and Dave Scott (“Stomp the Yard”).

Never Forever DVD release

Written and directed by Gina Kim, Never Forever is a US/Korean movie. The film was first screened at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. The movie has also mad the rounds this year at various Asian American Film Festivals.

Here’s the synopsis of Never Forever:

Never Forever focuses on a Caucasian housewife Sophie (Vera Farmiga), who, along with her husband Andrew Lee (David L. McInnis), a second-generation Korean American in New York, is forced to acknowledge that they are unable to bear children. Moved by her husband’s despair, Sophie resolves to do whatever it takes to conceive a child and restore their relationship.

Sophie initiates a bold and clandestine sexual affair with Jihah (Jung-Woo Ha), an illegal immigrant from Korea, who bears more than a passing resemblance to her husband. Sophie proposes the relationship to Jihah as a business matter, to pay him for each meeting until she conceives. In this relationship, sex is tolerated as part of a business arrangement and personal feelings are forbidden.

But Sophie soon finds this new arrangement spiraling into a situation that may actually destroy what it was meant to restore. In her attempt to give her husband what he wants most, Sophie has found herself led astray, distracted by her own desires, until finally, she embraces them.
