Ping Pong Playa picked up by IFC

IFC Films has picked up U.S. theatrical rights to Jessica Yu’s Asian American-themed comedy “Ping Pong Playa.” The film is the narrative debut for documentary filmmaker Jessica Yu (“Protagonist,” the Oscar-winning short “Breathing Lessons”) and co-written with Jimmy Tsai. It premiered at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival and screened in the Asian American film festival circuit for most of 2008. IFC will start distribbuting the film in select theaters starting September 5. So look for this film at a theater near you soon.
