Phillipe Nover in The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale

Filipino fighters are on the rise. Within the past few weeks, we have seen both MMA fighter Mark Munoz and boxer Manny Pacquiao demolish their opponents. Next up on the list is “The Filipino Assassin” Phillipe Nover as part of The Ultimate Fighter 8 finale for the lightweight division.

The best up-and-coming mixed martial artists from around the world convene in pursuit of one goal: to be named The Ultimate Fighter and to be given a contract in the UFC. For the eighth season, UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and top heavyweight contender Frank Mir trained and coached fighters in the lightweight and light heavyweight divisions. The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs Team Mir is hosted by Dana White, UFC President.

Phillipe Nover will fight for Team Nogueira against Efrain Escudero today Saturday, December 13th at 9PM. He’s got a good shot at the title of The Ultimate Fighter and a UFC contract! An online poll shows Phillipe Nover is favored 79% to 21% for Efrain Escudero. Within a Pro MMA Record of 5-0-1, we think “The Filipino Assassin” has a good shot of winning.
