Slumdog Milionaire DVD

Originally slated to go straight to DVD, Slumdog Millionaire took a Cinderella ride collecting a bunch of awards including Golden Globe Awards, Critic’s Choice Awards, and the Oscars. The Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack also picked up wins too. Good thing some studio execs greenlighted this for a theatrical release. Bollywood is another step closer to Hollywood now.

Both stars Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto made a splash in the the talk show circuit with appearances on Ellen, The View and The Daily Show. Freida Pinto even got into Complex Magazine. Hopefully more opportunities will open up for these young actors. Anil Kapoor, the TV host from Slumdog Millionaire, is rumored to be joining the cast of 24.

Jay Chou Dragon Rider Music Video

Over the weekend, we were hanging out at a boba tea shop and this music video was playing on the screen. Everyone in the shop was transfixed on the video playing as they waited for their orders. It is Jay Chou’s Dragon Rider music video. The music is in mandarin, but you don’t need to understand the language to understand what the video is about. We can only describe the music video as Twilight vs Wanted vs Matrix.

Secret Identities – S.O.S.

This is the seventh of 8 trailers for Secret Identities. The chapter is entitled “S.O.S.”, which can be found on Page 93 of SECRET IDENTITIES: The Asian American Superhero Anthology.

Visionary Raju “Bobby” Raval, founder of “Superhero Outsource Services” aka “S.O.S.” provides a “super” support system for the thrifty Superhero in today’s tough economy — eliminating the costly hassles of sidekicks or extra team members.

Written by Tanuj Chopra and drawn by Alex Joon Kim, this wonderfully satirical piece is one of the many examples of how SECRET IDENTITIES highlights relevant, world issues by sometimes taking it to the absurd.
