Kal Penn leaves House for the White House

Major shocker spreading across the Internet about Kal Penn on House. Spoiler this point on!!

On House last night, Dr. Kutner committed suicide as the character was essentially written off the show. FOX has even set up an memorial for Kal Penn’s character Dr. Kutner here. You can even write a memorial message for Dr. Kutner on Facebook here.

So why was Dr. Kutner killed off the show? Entertainment Weekly has a great article on what happened to Dr. Kutner and where Kal Penn is going. Read it here. Essentially, Kal Penn is taking a fat paycut to work at the White House. He was a big Obama supporter during the election. His acting career will be put on hold has he jumps into politics. It’s not entirely clear what Kal Penn will be doing.

We speculate that he may be involved in something related to USAService.org. No doubt Kal Penn’s got major skills from adjunct professor to acting. He’ll probably utilize his Rolodex in Washington like he did at UPenn. We wish him luck in his new endeavors. Guess there will be no Harold and Kumar 3

Secret Identities – Perils

This is the last of 8 trailers for Secret Identities. The chapter is entitled “Peril”, which can be found on Page 183 of SECRET IDENTITIES: The Asian American Superhero Anthology. Peril was partially inspired by the real life case against Dr. Wen Ho Lee.

In the story By the Time I Get to Arizona, a young man named Mason Wong learns that his father has been incarcerated and accused of spying on the United States. His father, Dr. Benjamin Wong, was a research scientist that helped develop a series of nanotechnology prototypes that gave people superhuman abilities. Mason is sent on a quest by his fathers partner, Dr. Malcolm Eady, to retrieve a weapon before it gets into the wrong hands.

Written by Keith Chow, with art by Jef Castro, “Peril” is one of the 52 originally conceived superheroes of the S.I.Universe.

Also check out this interview on Huffington Post, where Kristin talks about her site Girls by design. The site is billed as “a PLACE where teen girls can come together to EXPLORE, EXPRESS, CREATE and realize their potential together.” Look for an official launch in May.
