The Coalition for Asian American Children & Families (CACF) is putting on Asian American Idol 2 in NYC. This is a karaoke competition and fundraiser benefiting CACF, the nation’s only pan-Asian children’s rights organization. Here’s the lineup:

Daichi for Beatbox Battle Wildcard

18 year old Japanese beatboxer Daichi put together a YouTube video to get a wildcard spot at the BeatBox Battle. He dominates the views on all submissions online for the competition. (Last count we saw was 250,000+.) Good luck to DaiChi. The Beatbox Battle World Championship takes place in Berlin, Germany from May 28 – June 1, 2009. More info here. (BTW – How is Daichi making the sounds he makes when he puts his hand over his mouth?)

Asian Americans on Bones

In episode 21 of Season 4 of Bones we saw a bunch of Asian Americans. Here’s a synopsis of the episode entitled “The Girl In The Mask”:

Booth’s detective friend, Ken Nakamura, calls him from Tokyo in a panic when his sister Sachi goes missing in Washington. Booth and Brennan are on the case, and their investigation leads them to a canal where they find Sachi’s decapitated head. Booth and Brennan meet up with Ken and trace his sister’s life away from home, and their investigation leads them to an elite escort service. When they discover that her roommate is also missing, they must race against the clock to find Sachi’s killer.
