What’s more interesting than Quest stuck in an elevator is this Far East Movement and Quest Crew Collabo. BTW – Quest Crew and Beat Freaks are in New Jersey/NYC this weekend. (Don’t get stuck in another elevator. Far East Movement also have their own tour with Epik High called Map the Soul Tour. They will be hitting SF, LA, NY, and Seattle.

Meet the cast of Dim Sum Funeral

Dim Sum Funeral is a story about four siblings who reunite to grant their mother’s last wish before she passed away: to have a traditional Chinese funeral. Despite knowing very little about Chinese funerals and probably even less of their own mother, this story is about the siblings’ struggle to get along and solve their own personal issues. (If you are in LA, you can catch Dim Sum Funeral at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

We meet some of the cast from the film including Julia Nickson, Steph Song, and Russell Wong.

Meet the cast of Dim Sum Funeral

Apart from playing the stereotypical roles, or small roles usually given to Asian actors and actresses, as society evolves we see how some Asian actresses/actors snag roles written for white people. (Think Lucy Liu in Charlie’s Angels.) The cast of the Dim Sum Funeral discuss whether how difficult it is to break into the acting industry as an Asian artist.

* Hired as cello instructor to Academy Award winning actor Jamie Foxx, Tom Hollander and Justin Martin

* Served as music technical advisor for the director, Joe Wright

* Recorded all of the solo cello music featured on the movie soundtrack as well as the playback tracks

The training started in late August of 2007 and lasted through mid-April of 2008. Learn more about Cellist Ben Hong from his site here. Also pickup The Soloist soundtrack on Dario Marianelli - The Soloist (Music from the Motion Picture) or Amazon.com.

(Ben Hong teaching Jamie Foxx reminds us of how Tyson and Toby Mao taught Will Smith to solve a Rubik’s Cube quick.)
