Jennifer’s Body directed by Karyn Kusama

Why is Meagan Fox on this site? It’s cuz her latest film is directed by female Asian American filmmaker Karyn Kusama. She one of the few female directors in Hollywood. You may know some of the other films she’s directed including Aeon Flux and Girlfight. Here’s a synopsis of her latest film “Jennifer’s Body”:

A newly possessed cheerleader turns into a killer who specializes in offing her male classmates. Can her best friend put an end to the horror?

Asian American character The Weapon played by David Henrie?

Just like us, you probably have never heard of The Weapon. We dug around the Internet and found out what The Weapon was. Here’s the premise:

Martial arts enthusiast Tommy Zhou has invented a means to create solid objects from light — and invented a superhero persona to promote it, The Weapon! He even concocted an origin story for himself based on ancient Chinese legends his grandfather told him. What Tommy never suspected, though, were that his grandfather’s legends were real — and now an all-too real millenia-old ninja cult is after him, convinced he’s unlocked ancient mystical secrets!

Now that you know the basics about The Weapon. You’d think it would be cool to have Hollywood make this into a live action movie.

However, something is deeply wrong in Hollywood. Following in the footsteps of The Last Airbender, 21, and Dragonball Evolution, the role of Tommy Zhou was given to David Henrie from Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place. He’s white!! The character’s last name is Zhou and Asian. Why is an Asian American comic book character not played by an Asian American actor in the live action movie? What is wrong with the studios in Hollywood? This just makes no sense. No one let Hollywood near Secret Identities!!!

If you want to enjoy The Weapon in his original glory, you can read the comic book online here.
