Windowbreaker by Tze Chun

Director Tze Chun (Children of Invention) just release his 2007 Sundance Film Festival short film selection “Windowbreaker”. This short served as the foundation of his debut feature CHILDREN OF INVENTION (now in theaters). The short was made for just $600 (it’s amazing what you can do with small budgets) and shot in his childhood home in Randolph, Massachusetts. It earned Chun a place in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, and ended up playing over 30 international film festivals. Here’s a synopsis for Windowbreaker – “A string of break-ins creates a wave of paranoia in a racially-mixed suburb.”

We can see how this film served as a building block toward Children of Invention. Their are some similar elements in both films. Namely, inventive kids. Be sure to look for Children of Invention at a theater near you or pick up the DVD.
