Asian Conan Episode 1

Asian Conan

The creative directors (Josh Simpson and Brad Schultz) behind the humor website Funny or Die have finally released the first episode of the Asian Conan mini web series starring martial artist and stunt professional Steven Ho. This long awaited series spawned from the tremendous internet reception of a viral video about a mock street fight between “Asian Conan” and “Asian Jay Leno” (played by Sam “Smokey” Looc) at the Conan O’ Brien Burbank rally. We posted about it back in January, so if you want to see the video, you can check it out Asian Conan vs Asian Jay Leno.

You can keep updated on Asian Conan news on the Asian Conan facebook page. For up to date info on Asian Conan, follow him on Twitter.

In this first episode of several to come, Asian Conan must stop an illegal child fighting ring by any means necessary.

Minority Report by Deep Foundation & Hydroponikz

From the guys that brought you Children of the Sun comes a response to Adam Carolla’s comments about Manny Pacquiao and the Philippines. Here’s a statement from Deep Foundation & Hydroponikz:

Earlier this month, Adam Carolla made disparaging comments about Manny Pacquiao, the Philippines, and its people in his popular “The Adam Carolla Podcast.” For those who insist that it was merely a joke and that Carolla’s comments should not be taken too seriously, we encourage you to listen carefully to a clip from the podcast. We do not feel that he was joking when he made rants such as, “All they have over there is Manny Pacquiao and sex tours,” and, “Here’s how you know when your country doesn’t have a lot going for it: When everything is about Manny Pacquiao.”

When your culture, your nation’s identity and the worth of your people are devalued, misrepresented and ignorantly disparaged by one possessing a historically oppressive skin tone, those who bear the brunt of the dishonorable insults will naturally be cajoled into action. Such was the case when Adam Carolla’s comments in regards to the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao and his Filipino supporters were aired on The Adam Carolla Podcast.

Carolla posted an “apology” on Twitter, but only after thousands of Filipinos signed a petition demanding an apology did he post one on his site. We felt the need to respond to his comments reducing our people to simply Manny Pacquiao worshipers and prostitutes. So we did.

More about Jerrica

Jerrica, also known as JS is an R&B recording artist. At only 21 years old, Jerrica is already an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and professional Polynesian dancer and has received her ARCT Royal Conservatory of Music Diploma for Piano. Drawing on her love of Soul and R&B, her singing style is most influenced by the likes of Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, SWV and Lauryn Hill.

Looking to capture the Hip hop vibe with her classical keys stylings, Jerrica teamed up with Getright Music to create her first studio album entitled “Another Era”. The album is refreshing as it showcases Jerrica’s musical background on songs such as “You Can’t Deny” but also shows her adaptation to R&B/Hip hop with upbeat tracks such as “Bad Boy” and “Tell Me What It Is”. The album is a long time coming, and Jerrica is the real deal. Combined with Getright Music there is no girl out there doing it quite like this now.

Triangle Offense Interview with channelAPA.com

While on the channelAPA.com East Coast Tour, we had a chance to sit down with Triangle Offense. We learn how these guys got together to form the Triangle Offense (like in basketball). Although we only had Sci and Finesse for the interview, we still learned about their dance infused hip hop music (listen to Thank God I’m Fresh and Kapowski In My Audi). The third member Adonis is out in the Philippines, but the group is still utilizing technology to produce music. On Monday, April 26, 2010, they will be releasing The Courting Mixtape. Look for it soon.
