Asian American reality show TV mentions

Here’s some recent “news” coverage for the Asian American reality show being produced by Tyrese. There’s Asian stereotypes galore in these mentions on comedy shows. Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live (SNL) used a picture of an Asian girl with glasses playing a violin to illustrate the casting on the show.

Earlier in the week, entertainment reporter Michael Yo was on Chelsea Lately. He was excited about the show until the stereotype jokes came out from other panelists, which included mentions of martial arts, bowing, and doing math.

    Wow, if I had been Michael Yo I would’ve bitch slapped that other guy for those lame-ass Asian jokes!! Do you ever hear Asians going on about how hard it is to tell one schlubby white guy from another?! Let’s get things straight here, Michael Yo is waay better looking than either of those dorks! 🙂

    I find it interesting how white people in the racist american entertainment industry who have benefitted from the inequality of opportunity (less for Asians, more for whites) and, of course, done nothing to challenge the status quo (in fact they support racism) have the audacity to mock asians for attempting to overcome the racism that white people have afflicted us with
