Giveaway: Win “Inception” Promotional Prize Packages

Inception

After coming off a highly successful box office hit, director Christopher Nolan returns to the silver screen to bring you Inception, a psychological thriller that will literally go inside your mind! Touted as one of this year’s hottest summer films, Inception is set to be released in major theaters July 16. Inception’s well-acclaimed cast of  Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Hardy will be sure to bring the excitement and action as anticipated. Here is the official synopsis:

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in “Inception,” an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams.

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime.

But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.

This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime.

Lyrics to Southern Winds by Jane Lui

Many are the hearts that seek love
Plenty are the days to learn, love
Windy are the days, may be, love
May you always sing of this love

Southern Winds are blowin’
May it be calm or cruel
Time I have, to love you
Love we shall with care
Won’t you keep me safe, always safe,
safe in here – if only here.

How long is given to us lovers chosen?
In your arms I’ll sleep, love
From your arms to heaven

21 Reasons Why This Movie Sucks by Prince Gomolvilas

At last week’s Customs & Departures: An Evening With Thai-American Writers event, playwright/performer Prince Gomolvilas brings down the house on the movies “21” and “The Last Airbender.” He performed a monologue titled “21 Reasons Why This Movie Sucks.” The piece, which originally debuted in 2008’s Jukebox Stories: The Case of the Creamy Foam, is a delightfully biting takedown of the movie, 21. (The monologue is one of the central pieces in JUKEBOX STORIES, a storytelling, song-singing, bingo-playing, theatrical extravaganza starring Prince Gomolvilas and musician Brandon Patton.) Two years later, he’s updated the monologue so that he could bitch-slap The Last Airbender too. Hard. Really hard.
