In collaboration with his fans, Kevin Lien created a unique rendition of Jason Derulo’s “In My Head”. Earlier this year, he solicited video responses from his fans of them lipsyncing and dancing to the song. He tried to incorporate as many of the fan submissions as possible. If you submitted, see if you made the final cut. The video was among the Top discussed, favorited, and rated video in the music category on YouTube yesterday.

Over the weekend, Ted Fu of Wong Fu Productions proposed to his girlfriend, Caty Truei, at the 2010 International Secret Agents concert in New York City. During the intermission before the last performance of the night. Ted popped the question in front of a sold out audience of 1200+ people. All of them screaming. His girlfriend of three and a half years said yes. It’s an epic win for Ted Fu. How will Wong Fu Productions top this in ISA LA this week?

Congrats to our friend Dawen for winning the grand prize at Kollaboration Acoustic 4 over the weekend. He performed the hilarious song “Shoes”. (kinda reminds us of the song parody Shoes In Asian Homes). Not only did Dawen sing, but he also played the piano. He tickled that ivory and killed it at the end to the song. Far East Movement fans, have you ever wondered how to make the space helmets that the guys of FM wear? The guy who created the helmets shares some of the secrets behind the helmet:
Sometime in the beginning of the year (2010) during a photoshoot for Far East Movement, the guys were holding on to their space helmets, tucked under their arm, and I thought to myself… wouldn’t it be cool if they lit up? The idea was proposed to the guys, and they were all for it. I first did a preliminary mockup with regular 3V LED’s, but they weren’t bright enough. In the final version, I would instead go for the 12V strip led’s instead, which shine much brighter. The lights run off of 2 series 9V batteries (with a load R to dissipate 5.5V) and are controlled via push switch. Over time these helmets would fall apart due to how much these guys jump around and move on stage and would later have to be bolted down for further support.

City Boy of Illmocity and Tousher teamed up for the song “KISS U” earlier this year. These two young artists collaborated with each other crosscountry with Tousher out of Minnesota and City Boy out of Arizona. The track quickly became popular. Not only was the song a hit on 101.5 JAMZ (Arizona’s top radio station), but it also broke over 1 million collective plays on MySpace. Props to the pair of up and coming hip hop musicians. Looking forward to see from these guys. Recently, the duo released a music video for KISS U. Watch it below.
