The 2010 San Diego Asian Film Festival is right around the corner from OCTOBER 21-28, 2010. They just released a new trailer for the festival packed with tons of great films including Mister Green, Raspberry Magic, Legend of the Fist: Return of Chen Zhen, Kamui, Bodyguard and Assassins, Au Revoir Taipei, If I Knew What You Said, My Best Friend Bigfoot, Ajumma!, Are You Crazy?, Clap Clap, Fool For Love, The Wonder Hospital, Amazonia, Call Center, The Godmother, Robogeisha, Echoes of the Rainbow, Colin Hearts Kay and more. At Northeastern University, Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority Inc and the Asian Student Union Presents: “Youtube Yourstory” featuring: David Choi, Ryan Higa, Kevjumba, Wong Fu Productions, and afterschoolspecial. On this magical evening, all of our favorite youtube stars come together on one stage to inspire you to follow your dreams and talk about how we can use the power of youtube to represent ourselves. If mainstream media won’t let us breakthrough, it’s about time we show them who’s boss!

You might need to make a new friend on the Northeastern campus to attend the event this weekend. Almost 700 people are scheduled to attend this event here. If you missed ISA NY, you’ve got a chance in Boston.

Rapper 50 Cent put his own touches on “Like a G6“. (Yes, you read that right!) He jumped on Far East Movement’s platinum hit track as he raps about blowing cash, drinking, and grinding on women. This isn’t an official remix, but shows that the music industry are paying attention to Far East Movement on top of the music charts. How cool would it be if 50 Cent and Far East Movement did a song together.

Far East Movement goes platinum with Like a G6

Yesterday, Far East Movement released their latest album “Free Wired.” During their Free Wired release party at Hard Rock Cafe in New York, it was announced that their single “Like a G6” went platinum. (see 4:25mark.) What a way to kick off a new album!!

Look for Far East Movement to release their next song Rocketeer soon. The song is produced by the Stereotypes, co-written by Bruno Mars, and features Ryan Tedder of One Republic. The crowd already knows the song.

Rapper Chosen dropped his first official music video for “the Great Depression” off his album “Soundtrack to Life”. The track talks about the real life struggles of people. With the split screen video, he tells the three stories that we hear on the the news all the time including drive-by shootings, homicide, and drunk driving. Chosen humanizes the each story in his music video to offer a message for the real world. Work Hard, don’t give up and realize that life is short.

This episode of Glee revolves around duets. The main duet were focusing on is between Tina and Mike Chang. The pair’s increasing arguments threaten both their duet and their relationship. (See Glee Season 2 Episode 1.) The song the couple works on is “Sing!” from a Chorus Line. They try to take old school Broadway to TV. Mike’s known for his dancing skill. Can he make the jump to singing? or will they need Asian couples therapy? The winner of the duet will get dinner at Breadsticks.
