Chinese Professor controversy

Chinese Professor controversy

This video backed by Citizen Against Government Waste has been swirling on the Asian American blogs. This controversial xenophobic ad raises fear of a Chinese-dominated future. Something is seriously wrong with this! Campus Progress Action remixed it to mock the xenophobia of the original and point out some real truths about the present day economy.

Wong Fu Weekends: Episode 34

In this week’s Wong Fu Weekends, they watch a game of quidditch, chair drift, laugh at awkward jokes in Boston on the first leg of their Autumn tour, and car dancing to Far East Movement. They then return to Los Angeles to finish up some voice dubs with Ryan Higa for their latest project “Agents of Secret Stuff.” Look for the new 45 minute film to hit around Thanksgiving. Look for Wong Fu Productions on their Fall Tour and you may be shown the first 5 minutes of A.S.S.

Self Sacrifice by Rey x Jin

Self Sacrifice by Rey x Jin

Here’s a dope track with Rey and Jin called “Self Sacrifice” off the 2010 Hip Hop Census Mixtape. Although Jin doesn’t appear until verse 3, the overall message and positivity of the track is killer. In Jin’s verse, he reflects on his past and what he’s learned from it. It’s music with meaning like Jin’s Say Something Mixtape. Here’s the hook on the track

This is self sacrifice and when I die tomorrow I’ll see paradise
All the riches in the world can’t make a better life
We fall in trends then we leech live like parasites
And this is every night

Lyrics to Self Sacrifice by Rey x Jin

Verse

I’m fresh like some old kicks I mean some new kicks
I’m talking backwards I’m acting stupid
And if I get a win I’m still useless
So I’ma get at Jin hoping this moves kid
Reach for the stars but I’m sick of this music
I rap what is relevant life this is medicine
No it has never been I’m trapped and I never win
I know he was heaven sent I strayed from that pestilence
I gave it all up but I gained more inheritance
I might not be the man with a hand full of fans
But that’s all I need to proceed
And if one is touched then we all see the dream
I don’t want fame it’s not about me
I humbled myself because the proud don’t lead

Hook
This is self sacrifice and when I die tomorrow I’ll see paradise
All the riches in the world can’t make a better life
We fall in trends then we leech live like parasites
And this is every night x2

Verse 2

And if you skipped on the track its cause you’re living like the mass
I’m not trying to be brutal but you cats lost your noodles
And there’s oodles of you kids drawing doodles of the glitch
So you think you found your nitch get consumed in the mix
But like Michal this is it, Michal vic, second chances don’t exist sometimes
So I insist in rhymes think it through, you only got one shot one life one love emcees more mics
And it’s ok if I don’t ever get the tour life
Fame comes and goes 15 seconds or a life time
It’s hard to believe with this Einstein flow
See we live so short then our life time goes
That’s why I never buy into the hype
I’m the type that will stray from that life
Cause I’m driven by his light
So when you get a minute take a minute to reflex
I know he’s watching me that’s why I always come correct

Hook
This is self sacrifice and when I die tomorrow I’ll see paradise
All the riches in the world can’t make a better life
We fall in trends then we leech live like parasites
And this is every night x2

Verse 3 / Jin

Follow by every morning but what’s a man to do?
Others are counting on me it’s understandable
Cause even though on my own I had different plan
Never thought I had to be a sacrificial lamb
Its ok, I mean I’m cool with it, as long as the world knew I was true with it
I look back all these years what I have done for myself
Then I reflex on what I could have done for everyone else
Now I see finally exactly what it is
Time to figure out what’s the proper way to live
I’m grateful for all you have provided me
Allow me to be a servant of society
Never self centered at least I try to be
Introducing a new side of me
Guess what I’m starting today
This is something special you know what it is Rey

Hook
This is self sacrifice and when I die tomorrow I’ll see paradise
All the riches in the world can’t make a better life
We fall in trends then we leech live like parasites
And this is every night x2
