Lice by Margaret Cho

Lice by Margaret Cho

Margaret Cho release the music video for her track “Lice” off her latest music comedy album “Cho Dependent.” She wrote this song with musician Ben Lee, who helped her with the album as well as plays the Rabbi in the music video. This song was written when Margaret was recovering from a rather mild case of head lice during a trip in Morocco last year. Ben set her an instrumental track, but she didn’t know what the song was yet, but then she thought, write what you know. At the time she had head lice on her mind.

Lice is the third music video off the Cho Dependent album. See her previous music videos for Eat Sh*t and Die and I’m Sorry. The album is hilarious. You can get the album on Lice - Cho Dependent or Amazon.

The 3rd Floor with Mindy Kaling

The 3rd Floor with Mindy Kaling

Fans of the hit TV show “The Office” will love this new webseries, The 3rd Floor. The supporting cast members star in their own show. You might remember from last year the short series Subtle Sexuality with Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper. The Office co-workers are still driven for stardom as Kelly Kapoor and Erin Hannon. With music and dance dead, they ditch the music video concept and go to work on a horror movie. Here’s more about The 3rd Floor:

Drawing from the techniques of Roman Polanski and Wes Craven, THE 3RD FLOOR is a terrifying tale of what happens to an everyday office when a customer comes in and puts a satanic pagan gypsy curse on it. It’s filled with death, devastation…and a few laughs. More than a horror flick, THE 3RD FLOOR is a total horror experience via the mind of RYAN HOWARD – a bright young talent with a brilliantly dark imagination. It’s insane!

Will a horror film help turn these workers in to stars? Is fame within thier grasps? What could possibly go wrong making a horror movie at The Office? BTW – Not only does Mindy Kaling star in the short series, but she also directed all the episodes too.

That’s What She Said web series

That's What She Said web series

That’s What She Said (TWSS) webseries is the first major project of Pearl Girls Productions. The series chronicles the lives of five fictional characters–Leslie, Rae, Shin, Baby, and Nic–within the queer sphere of the greater Los Angeles area.

TWSS was created out of a desire to see positive Asian representations in the media, as well as to give voice to the often-untold stories of queer Asian women. As it is, Los Angeles holds one of the largest Asian populations in the United States (second only to New York), and is historically significant as a center for media and entertainment. Yet, save for a few examples, they are hard-pressed to find complex, multi-dimensional portrayals of queer Asian experiences.

About Pearl Girls Productions:

Pearl Girls Productions was created through the inception of the webseries, That’s What She Said. As six queer and queer-allied Asian women (and so much more), their hope is that their efforts will positively impact social consciousness through the power of media–in particular (though certainly not restricted to) the spread of positive representations of queer Asians.

Purp & Liquor by Flu

Rapper Flu released another song titled “Purp & Liquor”, which is a remix of Wiz Khalifa’s single, called “Black and Yellow.” The Sky High Lab crew member raps on the adult themed track about smoking and drinking. This song isn’t for everyone. You can download that Purp & Liquor for FREE here.

Recently, Flu was featured on Jin’s 2010 Hip Hop Census mixtape for the track Field Goals. That was only the start, he’s got the Style Wars Mixtape coming out in 2011 and set to make his debut on GrndTime soon.

Day Dreamin’ by J.Reyez x Tycoon x Gamble

Lyrics to Day Dreamin’ by J.Reyez x Tycoon x Gamble

(J.Reyez)
It was 2 afternoon, my eyes getting heavy
and my mind wouldn’t let me go to sleep, getting sweaty now
I passed out and had a dream about the cars and the cash
and how I started from scratch, how I’m living now
the money I get it now, I was on a different route
reaching for the top of the throne, trying to get the crown
I got em confused, always came with a different sound
experimenting around, everything I written down
I’m feeling like a king and nobody that can stop me
cruisin’ through the city in a black Maserati
the stars in the sky, the city lights glowing
my girl by my side, this feels like the right moment
ridin’ I go hard like I crashed the coupe
I got a house in each city that I travel to
we all grow up, I wanna see my boys at the top
we won’t stop, we all millionaires then I woke up and damn

(chorus)
yeah, and I keep on day dreamin’
so I can find another reason
to give it all I got, Im’a make it to the top
I won’t stop, Im’a reach for the number 1 spot

(Tycoon)
I see a bright light shinin’
sippin’ wine with the lions, I’m breaking bread with the giants
defyin’ the limits that nobody can pass
I’ll be flyin’ past fast with pizazz, ain’t no lookin’ back
kickin’ it back and I relax while I tan
my baby girl by my side playin’ in the sand
cheers! Here’s a toast to the good life
now I finally found the perfect woman that I could wife
yeah mama, I hope I made you proud
since I could think that was the first thing that I vowed
me and my dudes we be chillin’ in a villa now
forilla. We illa now. We be hundred dolla billas now
then I woke up… just a dream
but it’s okay cause you know what that means
I gotta keep on racin’ blazin’ these tracks
for success I am chasin’. I gonna be amazin’

(Gamble)
I’m just a kid with a telescope, watching all the stars
lavish living, got me thinking, I’ma make it large
rockstars, guitars, all the fancy cars
filling up the bar with half of my entourage
no struggle in my mirage or with the wizard of oz
selling out arenas, vibing to the applause
girls freakin’ and the fans screamin’
new tracks leaking, every day is like a weekend
I spit my heart with every microphone I grab
I wanna give em something that they never ever had
a brand new mansion for my mother and my dad
now they promoting my CD up on the billboard ad
it’s time to take flight and travel through the atlas
who thought this rap ish would have us living lavish
I’m feeling loved with every city that I come to
I won’t wake up until all of my dreams come true
