If You Ask Me To by blinktwice4y

Lyrics to If You Ask Me To by blinktwice4y

[verse]
I could spend a little bit of time with you
I could spin a little bitty rhyme for you
I don’t know what you need
but I hope that I can give it to you

I could bake a pretty little cake for you
I could make a mocha chocha shake or two
I don’t know what you need
but I hope that I can give it to you

[chorus]
I’m not made of shiny things
I could never pay for diamond rings
but I will make the whole world sing
if you ask me to

oooOOOooOOooo

[verse]
I can make a red light green for you
microwave a lean cuisine for you
I don’t know what you need
but I hope that I can give it to you

I can make the stars come out for you
I can make a kitten out of clouds for you
I don’t know what you need
but I hope that I can give it to you

[chorus] x 2

oooOOOoooOOOooo

Montreal In The Fall by Masia One

Montreal In The Fall by Masia One

It’s been a awhile since we heard from Masia One. Last month, she dropped a new music video for her track “Montreal In The Fall” off her sophomore album PULAU. The album is a collection of lyrics, samples and songs compiled over a 2 year period in her travels as an international artist, showcasing the rapper more experienced and with fine tuned lyrical skills. P U L A U, the Malaysian word for “The Islands”, begins its journey in Singapore, the place of Masia’s birth. She explores her roots in South East Asia and witnesses the growth of Hip hop in the Malaysian, Indonesian and Chinese cultural communities.

Now positioned to take on Hollywood, Masia One is completing her latest album with Los Angeles based record label Kops & Robbers. Grammy award winning producer Che Vicious has crafted an album that features Masia’s remarkable flow over highly infectious dancehall, electro and dance rhythms. As Dr. Dre’s right handman, Che has worked with everyone from Lauryn Hill, Jay Z and Eminem to name a few. This much anticipated release will catapult Masia One into the mainstream as this Singapore-Canadian girl becomes a household name for urban music internationally.

The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 controversy with Nam Phan

The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 controversy with Nam Phan

Over the weekend, the Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Season 12 Finale event featuring MMA fighter Nam Phan ended in controversy. The Nam Phan vs Leonard Garcia battle concluded with a split decision victory in favor of Garcia. The poor judging had the crowd immediately booing and chanting “bullsh*t” once the final decision was announced. Even Leonard Garcia was shocked. Statistically, Phan dominated the fight landing 122 strikes vs Garcia’s 66. In the power strike category, Phan landed 66 vs 39 for Garcia. Overall. Phan landed 49% of his strikes vs 23% for Garcia.

When Joe Rogan interviewed Nam Phan after the fight, he exclaimed “Asian brother can’t get no love man.” (This will be a catch phrase for some time to come. See the 4 minute mark.) The controversy might be a blessing in disguise as Nam Phan’s popularity has soared after the loss. Not only has he won more fans, but UFC President Dana White also paid him the win bonus for the fight. Look for more MMA fights from Nam Phan soon.

B-Side by Baiyu

B-Side by Baiyu

Baiyu released her first ever EP “B-Side.” The five track album is being distributed by JMD/Universal. Baiyu explains that “This project has its roots in not only my musical core, but in my personal experiences. Each song can be tied to such specific moments in my life that I almost feel a kind of nakedness in sharing them with others. Yet, I remind myself that this very fact is what is most exciting about the release, and is what I, and my fans, have been waiting for.” “B-Side” is a unique fusion of 90’s inspired R&B and synth pop with singer/songwriter underpinnings, not unlike Baiyu’s upbringing and primary influences. The entire album was written solely by Baiyu, and sung in her own words. Here’s the track listing:

1. B-Side
2. Sweet Misery
3. Don’t Cry
4. Foolish
5. Tomorrow’s Another Day

As a small token of appreciation for supporting her, here is a free download to one of her favorite songs on the EP, “Foolish” here. In the recent months, Baiyu has gained notoriety for her music being featured by Funkmaster Flex, Karen Civil, You Heard That New, R&B Xclusive, and landing on the homepage of The Source.
