Tonight’s new NBC Thursday lineup might be the first time we’ve seen some sort of Asian American representation in every show in the primetime block for a network. The lineup of the 3 hour primetime block consists of a six comedies including “Community,” “Perfect Couples,” “The Office,” “Parks & Recreation,” “30 Rock” and “Outsourced”. It’s comedy done right all night. Here’s the breakdown of the actors and actresses of Asian descent tonight:
Plenty of Indian American representation. Also of note is that the only show that had any sort of accent is Outsourced. However, the show takes place in India. We hope to see more Asian American representation on the other networks too.
Bollywood dance on from Outsourced to be shown in primetime on NBC
One of comedian Aziz Ansari’s new year’s resolution was to adopt a kid. See how he deals with parenting after he gets a kid. Aziz doesn’t quite use the Tiger Mom techniques. His new son gets taught how to dress, what to drink and eat, and more. However, the kid takes a bit of verbal abuse. Is Aziz Ansari cut out to be a parent?
For the techies, Only Won the Lyrical Engineer released a geeked out mix of Billionaire. Lots of computer and technology references on the track. One look at the Forbes billionaire list and you’ll see the likes of technology leaders Bill Gates and Larry Ellison. And for those actually studying engineering in school, you know you “wanna be an engineer so freakin’ bad.”
