Is Kevjumba a heterosexual bear wrestler?

Kevjumba talks about racial stereotypes lightheartedly in his latest video “Awkward.” It takes a look at Papa Jumba‘s perspective of African Americans, which is probably like many Asian immigrant parents. He also noted that if you type “Is Kevjumba” into Google’s search bar, the auto-complete suggests “Is Kevjumba gay“. (When we did it the first suggestion was “Is Kevjumba a jerk”) TO combat these Google suggestions, he wants his fans to search for “Is Kevjumba a heterosexual bear wrestler.” Although it doesn’t come up in Google Instant, it does appear in search results. These Four Walls by Wong Fu Productions

In his new short, Wesley Chan of Wong Fu Productions illustrates the desire to explore the world around you through the “eyes” of a pinwheel. Take a journey with this pinwheel through its exploration of Italy. Here’s a synopsis:

Dare to explore a world that is bigger than you know. There are a lot of reasons to not do something or not feel something. Those boundaries and walls are put up by ourselves. Once we’re able to step outside of them, we can truly realize the endless possibilities the world has to offer

It’s an amazing short without any dialogue and using music to express the emotions of the piece. The concept is similar to the short When Five Fell by using objects to tell a story and convey a message.

Is it insensitivity to children or effective parenting?

HUPA Presents "Foundations" Featuring work by Tony Hong

For anyone who is interested in attending, Hold Up Art Lovers (HUPA) will be hosting an art gallery featuring a body of work on paper and wood that artist Tony Hong has been amassing since he has begun his bold new style of line-centric work over the past two years. The show will also feature limited edition silkscreen prints hand pressed and pulled by the artist.

Tony Hong is an emerging Korean-American contemporary artist who works exclusively in ink. While he considers himself a simple line maker, these lines ultimately form an intensely detailed image of organic matter.

HUPA curator Brian says…
“The concentration and attention to detail required to execute the pieces Hong is showcasing in ‘Foundations’ is rarely seen in today’s pop centric art world. Not only does he refocus our attention from character and brand, which we typically have seen so much of in the past years, to more basic elements of art such as line and weight, but also Hong is on the cusps of the new focus in Californian contemporary which is an emphasis on design as it pertains to fine art.”
