I’m Hardcore by Ryan Higa x David Choi x JR Aquino

I'm Hardcore by Ryan Higa x David Choi x JR Aquino

Here’s a new original collaboration by Ryan Higa x David Choi x JR Aquino called “I’m Hardcore.” It’s a comedic song spoofing what it means to be hardcore from washing dishes to throwing chairs around. Pay attention to the words. Loads of funny parts. We shed a Tear cuz Ryan Higa is not a Like a Good Boy for this single. Also the music video is complete with dance choreography from Ryan Higa, David Choi, and Chester See. (Nice unicorn move guys!) Look for cameos by D-Trix of Quest Crew and Phil & Wes from Wong Fu Productions. By the end of the track, they’ll all have you saying “Gimme gimme gimme gimme more” and you’ll want to be hardcore like them.

Support these guys by getting the song on I'm Hardcore (feat. Ryan Higa, David Choi & Jr Aquino) - I'm Hardcore (feat. Ryan Higa, David Choi & Jr Aquino) - Single. It’s got a catchy tune like David Choi’s other track Dance to This Song. And listen to By Chance (You & I) by JRA from the short film Agents of Secret Stuff.

Lyrics to I’m Hardcore by Ryan Higa x David Choi x JR Aquino

I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I got bling hanging down to the floor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Are you a girl scout imma shut the door
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I don’t ride horses I ride unicorns
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Gimme gimme gimme gimme more

Stomping on a bed of the prettiest flowers
Pulling out the roots with ultimate power
Don’t care what you think; don’t care about you
This is how I roll; this is how I do

I’m stronger, faster, than all you haters
I’ll blow right by you on my scooter skater
I can pedal my feet like nobody can
You can’t catch me cuz I’m the ginger bread man!!!!

Beautiful flowers stomped on for hours
So strong and so fast, hey haters can lick my grass
Don’t even know why, people will try
To make me cry, but I’ll never cry, well, maybe sometimes

I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I got bling hanging down to the floor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Are you a girl scout imma shut the door
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I don’t ride horses I ride unicorns
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Gimme gimme gimme gimme more

Like the ass phalt I’m hard on the street
Just like sand, I’m the son of a beach
People call me animal, but I can be three
A beaver, cat, duck, a platypussy

I do the dishes everyday
The water burns my hands, but I’ll NEVER show the pain
My hands hurt, my hands hurt, I will be ok
I’m trying to hold it in, but I really want to scream

I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I got bling hanging down to the floor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Are you a girl scout imma shut the door
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I don’t ride horses I ride unicorns
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Gimme gimme gimme gimme more

I’m so hard baby. So so hard like a rock baby.
Rock hard, rock hard, yeah. Like concrete, like concrete, baby.
I’m hardcore!

I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I don’t run I just do parkour
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I do the river dance on the dance floor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Give to rich and steal from the poor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Gimme gimme gimme gimme more

I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I go to bed at 8:24
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
I’m an ASSSO
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Besa mis labios senor
I’m hardcore, I’m hardcore!
Imma fart when I walk through your door

Music producer CHOPS interview with channelAPA.com

channelAPA.com had a chance to talk to music producer CHOPS. We talked to him about his music background and his experience with the Mountain Brothers back in the 90’s (one of the first Asian American hip-hop groups). After two albums and national TV commercials, the Mountain Brothers disbanded. CHOPS continued his career in hip hop behind the scenes by producing music for the likes of Bun B, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Chamillionaire, E-40, The Game, Ice Cube, Paul Wall, San Quinn, and Keak Da Sneak. Things have changed a lot since he first started in the business. The cost of production has dramatically dropped coupled with the pervasiveness of Internet has given people the opportunity to showcase their work around the world. CHOPS is still getting creative. You can hear some of his work off his latest mixtape “Songs Your Girl Likes.”

He gives shout outs to Far East Movement, dumbfoundead, Roscoe Umali, and Decipher. If you’re up for a collabo, hit CHOPS up on twitter here.

Last Train Home screening in San Diego

Last Train Home screening in San Diego

The San Diego Asian Film Foundation is proud to present the poignant documentary “Last Train Home”. Every spring, China’s cities are plunged into chaos as 130 million migrant workers journey to their home villages for the New Year’s holiday. This mass exodus is the world’s largest human migration – an epic spectacle that reveals a country tragically caught between its rural past and industrial future. Working over several years in classic vert style Chinese-Canadian filmmaker Lixin Fan (with the producers of the award-winning hit documentary “Up the Yangtze”) travels with one couple who have embarked on this annual trek for almost two decades. Like so many of China’s rural poor, Zhang Changhua and Chen Suqin left behind their two infant children for grueling factory jobs. Their daughter Qin – now a restless and rebellious teenager – both bitterly resents their absence and longs for her own freedom away from school, much to the utter devastation of her parents. Emotionally engaging and starkly beautiful, Last Train Home’s intimate observation of one fractured family sheds light on the human cost of China’s ascendance as an economic superpower.

If you’re in San Diego, here’s the details on the screening:

Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 7:00PM
UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center
7510 Hazard Center Drive
San Diego, CA 92108

It’s a fascinating documentary about sacrifice and the way of life in China. You will gain a new perspective on the goods from China and the people who make the products.

Millions the series Casting Call

Millions the series Casting Call

Millions the series has just recently launched their casting call. In order to be eligible, you must be in Toronto (unless you’re willing to fly down here). Secondly, you must be non-union. No experience required. They’re offering $150 CAD per day of filming to the lead actors. The deadline for submissions is February 6, 2011. Read below for a recap of the series and the roles they’re looking for. We hear they need more Asian male submissions. (Any actors out in Canada?)

Synopsis of Millions the series
MILLIONS is the story of a crew of twenty-somethings in the picturesque suburban neighborhood of Adlard. Brandon (the dreamer) and his lifelong friends, Deron (the clown), Mary (the tomboy), Charlie (the cynic), Jay (the playboy), and Eddie (the brain), work mediocre 9 to 5 jobs, and waste away their nights bumming the streets aimlessly. The emptiness of their lives makes them apathetic, but not enough to do anything about it. Until a tragedy hits the group that sparks Brandon on a quest. In high school, the group made a pact to become millionaires by the age of 30. It was a childish dream that faded with time. But after recent events, Brandon refuses to let it go any longer. He persuades his friends to join him in becoming the millionaires they once promised each other they’d be – and prove that dreams aren’t something so easily forgotten.

Principal Roles for Millions the series

* LIA (Female, 20 – 35 yrs, Asian/Mixed Asian)
Lia is the control-freak. She is a natural leader, but full of life. She’s stubborn and assertive, but falls victim to her big heart. She has more faith in people than she probably should. Her on and off boyfriend, Jay, is her kryptonite.

* EDDIE (Male, 20 – 35 yrs, Asian/Mixed Asian)
Eddie is the brain. He is quiet, extremely intelligent, works hard, independent, generous, and full of integrity. He doesn’t look it, but he is a very strong person inside.

Ana is a tough, strong woman who has been bartending for 10 years. Personally, she’s very down-to-earth, but quite the hard ass at work.
