Epic VFX Time with Freddie Wong

Freddie Wong and his crew mix it up with EpicMealTime for some VFX insanity. They use similar effects that you see in commercials. Guns, cars, choppers all make it in the video. 785 minutes of render time to create this 2:09 minute video.

First up is their short film The Airport with Lana McKissack x Chester See x Kevin Wu as part of the Technology Ruins Romance series. (You might remember Lana from David Choi’s music video Won’t Even Start.) Next the guys take you on the set of 5 Perks of Having a Girlfriend (part of the Rick’s Man Tutorial series). Lyrics to Tonight by MissCarolinexoxo

I just want to get out
Spend a night out on the town
But time is running slow, don’t you know how it goes
I’m sitting on the job
And I’m staring at the clock
So I can go away, get away, run away

From all the stress that’s in my life
We’ll go out and enjoy good company, ya feelin me
Tonight’s the night we’re feeling alright
We’ll go out and we’ll make history you and me

Oh, meet me after 10
I’m getting ready to begin
Tonight’s festivities, let’s get fun tonight’s the one
The one night to let go
Don’t you hold back oh no
We’re all out on the floor livin it up, showin the love

From all the stress that’s in my life
We’ll go out and enjoy good company, ya feelin me
Tonight’s the night we’re feeling alright
We’ll go out and we’ll make history you and me

No, no place I’d rather be
Bright lights I feel so free
The beat never fails me tonight
And its your night and its my night alright
Groove left rock right with me
Feel the vibe electricity
The beat never fails me tonight
Midnight soul

Ooooo tonight tonight, tonight tonight x2

From all the stress that’s in my life
We’ll go out and enjoy good company, ya feelin me
Tonight’s the night we’re feeling alright
We’ll go out and we’ll make history you and me

No, no place I’d rather be
Bright lights I feel so free
The beat never fails me tonight
Ohhhh

Groove left rock right with me
Feel the vibe electricity
The beat never fails me tonight
Midnight soul

Ooooo tonight tonight, tonight tonight x2

You fuel my soul you make me lose control

The Race Card

The Race Card

In this comedy sketch, YouTubers wanted to toy with the social stigma that minorities can often times crack racial jokes, but when a White person does it, it’s not okay. The Asian representative in the sketch is Timothy DeLaGhetto. There’s no “statement” being made by this sketch, it’s all in fun. Racial humor can be hilarious, in all directions. Just know your crowd and regardless of ‘crowd’ know the line of respect.

Matched by LXD featuring Harry Shum Jr.

Jon M. Chu’s LXD released a new video called “Matched”. Harry Shum Jr. and the Umbras dance with their umbrellas to the music of “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from The Nutcracker. (A fairy or two make an appearance.) Although it seems more like a holiday piece, it’s great for anywhere it’s snowing now. It’s a cute little love story.

BTW – check out Harry Shum Jr. the action hero in 3 Minutes.

If you want more LXD, another short film from them “Game On” will be in 3D before the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Director’s Fan Cut edition in digital 3D screens all around the country. Like Pixar shorts opening their movies, Jon M. Chu wants LXD PRESENTS to have a tradition of telling short stories in front of his movies.
