Fast Five Trailer #2

Fast Five Trailer #2

The latest trailer for the Fast and the Furious franchise is out. There’s more Sung Kang as Han and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson as Luke Hobbs than the earlier Fast Five trailer. At the 47 second mark, The Rock explains what his team must do to capture Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker). You can also see a fight between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. At the 1:50 mark, Sung Kang is driving a car while making out. You can see Han staring at bikini-clad women in the trailer as well. Here’s a synopsis of the movie:

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.

Loads of adrenaline pumping action in this trailer. Look for the film to hit theaters on April 29, 2011.

Asian car in Cars 2 - Shu Todoroki

Taking a page from The Fast and the Furious franchise, Disney’s Cars 2 goes to Japan for some racing action. Not only does Cars 2 go to Asia, but a new character Shu Todoroki will also be introduced. (Tokyo Drift anyone?) Here’s a character description of Shu Todoroki:

Shu Todoroki is a Le Motor Prototype racer representing Japan and bearing #7 in the World Grand Prix. Shu was raised at the base of the active Mount Asama volcano in Japan, and soon became a champion on the Suzuka Circuit. His sleek design sports a fiery red Ka-Riu dragon, which Shu borrowed from Japanese legend because he relates to the small, yet fierce nature of the dragon. His team legacy is filled with victories – his coach, a Mazda, was the only Japanese car to ever win at Le Mans – and Shu hopes to prove his champion-level racing on the international stage of the World Grand Prix.

Previously, Mater went to Tokyo in the Pixar Short Tokyo Mater, but there’s more storyline in his next visit to Japan in Cars 2:

When star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix, Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.

We wonder if any of Mater’s Tokyo friends will make an appearance. Look for Cars 2 coming to US theaters June 24.

Vote for Jubilee Project for YouTube DoGooder Award

Vote for The Jubilee Project

The Jubilee Project released a fundraiser video in February called “Beautiful” and it was recently selected as one of 16 finalists out of 1,350 submissions for the YouTube DoGooder Non-Profit Video Awards Competition.

The winning video of each category (“Beautiful” is in the Thrifty video category with 3 other videos) will receive $2,500 and get the video featured on YouTube’s homepage. This is a great opportunity not just for The Jubilee Project but also for Becky’s Fund, the organization The Jubilee Project partnered with, to raise more awareness to tackle domestic and dating violence. The winners are chosen based on the number of votes received here and voting ends Friday 3/11 at midnight. The Jubilee Project would really love your help to vote for our video by indicating a thumbs up every day until Friday, which will determine the winners in the end. Just as importantly, please also help spread the word and announce this message to your audience.

“Beautiful” is a Valentine’s Day message dedicated to women and supports Becky’s Fund, a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and prevent dating and domestic violence. This organization was started by Becky Lee, who has fought to empower women and young girls and educate the community on domestic violence, which affects 1 in 3 women. Becky Lee was a second runner-up on Survivor: Cook Islands and used her winnings to start this organization. Learn more about them here.
