G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer

The first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, directed by Jon M. Chu, is out. For those concerned about his transition from dance (LXD and the Step Up franchise) to action movies, the trailer leaves no doubt that he can do it. Among the Asian and Asian American actors in the film are Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock” as Roadblock, Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow, and Elodie Yung as Jinx. Not much is revealed about the plot yet, but looks like Cobra takes over the White House with plenty of firepower and visual effects along the way.

Head : short film

Head : short film

Inspired by a rum-fueled nightmare, the short film HEAD was made possible through Film Independent’s Project:Involve competitive shorts program with support from NBC Universal. The program challenges filmmakers on a micro-budget to tell a complete story in three minutes. Director Benjamin Wong took the challenge and created the dark comedy “Head”. Here’ more details:

When a regular schmuck gets passed up for the promotion *once* again, he is forced to confront an evil boss, conniving coworkers, and tweed sportcoats in this black comedy that takes place during the darkest era ever known to man – the 1980’s.

The short stars Don Chao, Kim Doe, Don Danielson, Jonathan Ohye, Rich Liu, and Nick Ballard.

Lyrics to

[verse 1]
i wanna go for a walk in the park baby
we can cool out… dont gotta do nothin crazy
yeah, i wanna spend some time with you
id do the time if its a crime to just vibe with you
take a seat on this park bench, forget about apartments or houses,
nice sunny day out everyone walkin
chat for a while, crack a smile, people watchin
errands can wait cuz time is no object
no particular rush, remember we were friends and i’d make you blush?
there’s that one time that i caught you off guard at the mall
[i was] crushing so hard i was bound to fall
you’re unbelievable girl
to me, you mean the world
there’s not much that i wouldn’t do
to go out and provide just to be with you

[hook]
i know that summers just ending but the livings still easy
we can take-our-time, cuz boy you complete me
so just take another breathe, the feelings so right
we can spend some time alone tonight

[verse 2]
just think, one time we were worlds apart
who knew we’d end up stealing hearts?
love is a crazy game
the stakes are high and im down to play
if we never take risks, then there’s no reward
and id rather jump in, than go overboard
but even if so, doesnt mean youll drown
cuz you never know who’ll rescue you
they say it aint nothing but there really is something
all these haters just mad and they need to stop frontin
where did the love go, apparently not them
what they gotta show for it? in the end… nothin
glad that i found you, glad im around you
we can run this town, give the word and im down too
just promise you’ll be my sweetheart
lovers and friends the beginning of a sweet start

[hook 2]
you and i we see things differently, but i know…
we were meant to be. you make love to me so perfectly
so lets take this past the summer summertime

i know that summers just ending but the livings still easy
we can take-our-time, cuz boy you complete me
so just take another breathe, the feelings so right
we can spend some time alone tonight

George Takei is the Broker of Star Peace between Star Wars & Star Trek

George Takei is the Broker of Star Peace between Star Wars & Star Trek

Icons of Star Trek (William Shatner) and Star Wars (Carrie Fisher) recently took to the internet arguing that their franchise reigned supreme. With this intergalactic feud, film critic Roger Ebert summoned George Takei to help. Ebert stated, “One can only hope George Takei can be brought in to broker a peace settlement before blood is shed.” George takes up the challenge to broker stat peace between the two space franchises. As the only actor who has worked in both, he stepped in to address the issues by identifying a mutual threat, the Twilight series. Unlike the sci-fi series that offer heroism, camaraderie, epic battles, and life lessons, the Twilight series only attempts to answer one question, “does my boyfriend like me?”

George Takei has been making a strong resurgence with his career online. Watch his previous videos: George Takei vs. Tennessee’s “Don’t Say Gay” Bill, George Takei Should Be Spiderman on Broadway, and George Takei is Second to Nun in his own Sister Act.
