Lyrics to Perseverance (The Jeremy Lin Story) by GOWE

I was told that my dreams were too far fetched
They call me average and not quite that of a prospect
within the process theres a target on my chest
So when I look down at my jersey
all I see is Palo Alto or better yet the Vikings,
but I just take it in stride I would wake up at five
so I could get my practice in
And this is part of the struggle
my dedication, If im playing on the court than it all comes from the soul
They say talent is a rival of hard work
Cause hard work, nine out of ten times will show talent its jaded
My right ankle was taped, with a ligament torn
I had to sit out on the game while my team they lost to Oak Ridge
But that was last year and this heres the rebuttal
Packed crowd at the Arco, last shot at a title
My team in the finals, with the perfect ending 51-47 and im feeling tremendous!

Hook –
Is this real? Cause I made it to my dream
They said I could never be anything I want to be
And so even if it hurts all the temporary pain
doesn’t bother me at all cause you will make it one day

Verse 2 –

The crimson red is scattered across his chest
When he dribbles hes a threat when he charges it to the net
With every step that he took its like the journey begins
And he reflects on the wins but even more their respect
So when he steps on the court or take reps inside of the gym
These are chances he was given to deflect glory to the Kingdom
6 foot 3 weighing at two hundred pounds
But his ground game is average, his jump shot could use practice
His size is kind of lacking and we think he lacks aggression
These were scouts and their assessments
lessons learned that effort is untelling
indescribable nature to overcome any hurdles
and then it happened A televised show of his whole game and his skill set
The 12th ranked UConn were considered the real test
In just one game his stock jumped to a peak
Chasing his dream now the only thing left is the league
Hook –

Is this real? Cause I made it to my dream
They said I could never be anything I want to be
And so even if it hurts all the temporary pain
doesn’t bother me at all cause you will make it one day

Verse 3 –

The day is June 24th and my heart it races
A bunch of places in my thoughts of where to play in
The Sacramento kings maybe the L A Clips
Or a trip down to Dallas and run game with the mavericks
if i’m lucky ill be blessed to join my home town team
With the greats like Chris Mullin
I’m getting lost up in the moment
But with each name that is called im getting further away
And the next thing I knew the draft was over – soldier
Losers are the ones that never try because of failure
And I’m not afraid to fall so I ball hard cause im after
my dreams are just a part of my life
my inspiration is Christ if Im nice
then I will thank you for the love
Visited Golden State my next stop was Houston
Now im blessed to play for the Knicks with bright lights at the Garden
And I promise this is honest – believe in the plan
You got two seconds left and got the ball in your hands

Hook –

Is this real? Cause I made it to my dream
They said I could never be anything I want to be
And so even if it hurts all the temporary pain
doesn’t bother me at all cause you will make it one day

Jeremy Lin leads New York Knicks to 5 straight wins

Linsanity continues to reign over the NBA as Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Battled the fatigue of back-to-back games, Lin managed to score 20 points with eight assists, six rebounds and three steals. His 20+ point game streak rolls to 5 games. His last point in the game gave the Knicks the go ahead point. At the free throw line, Jeremy Lin made 1-of-2 shots to hand New York a 99-98 lead with just 4.9 seconds left on the game clock. Definitely a nail-biting finish to this game.

In the post game interview, he talks about playing 7 games in 10 days and continues to praise his teammates. Having a break until Tuesday will help him and the rest of the team recuperate. It’s been a surreal week for Jeremy Lin. On the term “Lin-sanity”, he stated that it should be changed to something team related. It’s not a one man show, it’s a team effort.

His stat line as a starter for the Knicks makes him look like an all-star with 27.3 points, 8.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game with average play time of 39:30 with 51.3 shooting percentage.
