The Remembrance Project PSA with George Takei

The Remembrance Project PSA with George Takei

Actor George Takei took part in a PSA for “The Remembrance Project”. On February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which instigated unfair indignities and injustice for over 285,000 people of Japanese ancestry residing in the U.S. and abroad, including unlawful removal from their homes and unconstitutional abridgment of their rights.

In 2012, as we mark the 70th anniversary of this historic event, the Japanese American National Museum is launching its newest initiative, the Remembrance Project. This online project encourages individuals and families to remember their history and to pay tribute to the unique experiences of family members, friends, and other individuals affected by the signing of E.O. 9066 and World War II. It’s a pioneering effort to build a permanent “living museum” online featuring the stories of those whose lives were forever changed.

George Takei gives his first hand account of his experience being taken to an internment camp.

My Fresh by Joanlee x Traphik (contains explicit lyrics)

INTRO: (Joanlee)
Said I’m flyer than a plane, cooler than some ice skates, damn it I’m the man
I’m about to hit the fan, Stop smilin’ in my face, knowing that you really deep down tryna hate, QUIT PLAYIN’

VERSE 1: (Joanlee)
Joanlee, aka Jay, it’s all the same, just remember the name
I’m, so official, they better blow the whistle,
cuz i pull up & let go, like my 1st initial,
Tupac status “All Eyes On Me”,
looking for the baddest chick to bump & grind on me,
so, don’t bother asking who she came for, stop ya game
she’ll say my name in pig latin “Oanlee-Jay”
swags on point, yo steeze is looking retro,
yo style’s Alzeimher’s, cuz she’ll meet you and forget you
I’m the sh*t, better wipe me down w/ a tissue,
“Yellow dude” flow, i guess that makes me the piss too
I’m steppin’ in and i’m about to go get em,
got dead presidents in my brand new denim,
Ladies get w/ it, them clowns is getting laughed at,
Cuz i can put you on like a fitted, or a snap back,

CHORUS:
All the girls see me, they know I’m poppin’
Haters keep hating cuz they can’t stop MY FRESH
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka
Stuntin’ ain’t nothing, why is you frontin’
Put that on something, that you ain’t jockin’ MY FRESH
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka

VERSE 2: (Traphik)
hold up, let’s take a moment of silence,
cuz I’m, killin’ the game got it down to a science
me and “Joanlee” Long Beach alliance,
blending fresh shit like a kitchen appliance
I’ve been grinding, got a few fans
fresh out the box like a pair of new Vans
I’m tight like fat chicks in parachute pants
embarrass you like when your parents do a new dance
Al Bundy, I’m saying NO MA’AM,
cop’d a Swine flow i’m going so H.A.M.
King like Jamie, “dap me broham”
now yo chick is on my dick with no hands
no support like tits with no tops
put on a fake smile that shit’s like Botox
so don’t worry bout what the kid don’t got
cuz i make my own money like “Kid Robot”

CHORUS: (Traphik)
All the girls see me, they know I’m poppin’
Haters keep hating cuz they can’t stop MY FRESH
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka
Stuntin’ ain’t nothing, why is you frontin’
Put that on something, that you ain’t jockin’ MY FRESH
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka

VERSE 3: (Traphik & Joanlee)

(Traphik)
it’s your Royal Flyness, everybody want to bite it
so much status everybody want to “Like” it
go ahead and try it, you can copy my shit
but you can’t be fly without me I’m the pilot
got plenty women i got plenty kicks
outside the box like December 26
dirty girls burning dudes like some wooden chips
so i keep it wrapped up like Muslims chicks

(Joanlee)
Yup! I’m the one you keep hearing my name about
Like a pair of fresh “Jordan’s” don’t wear it out
I don’t speak yo language, was you saying something?
Ye’, “ugh, ugh, you can’t tell me nothin”
Checking me out like a Hotel guest,
I’m J.D. when a hater speaks, “So So Def”,
Me be offended? Don’t hold yo breath
You’re my Street Team, so PLEASE keep talking that sh*t (Hahaha)

CHORUS: (Joanlee)
All the girls see me, they know I’m poppin’
Haters keep hating cuz they can’t stop MY FRESH

(Joanlee)
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka
Stuntin’ ain’t nothing, why is you frontin’
Put that on something, that you ain’t jockin’ MY FRESH

(Traphik)
cuz i’m fly than a muthaf*cka,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fly than a muthaf*cka

From the heart of the beast, call it LA zoo
Still reppin’ in the East, where dem face gone screw (T.O.)
Signed, sealed on a lease for an ocean view
Now I’m living at peace, and that’s alright now
Ghetto birds fly sky so blue
Robbers, crooks and theives, are lot like you
Undercover police, big feet bad shoes
That’s how they live, then sing alright now

Verse 2 (Rap)
Just another story for the boys in the pen
Look who’s at it again?
Shorty du-wop a 10
Now I do the damn thing while the pigeons complain
When I rock, keep em’ jitten like we in Michigan, uh huh!
Detroit city getting gritty begin,
peace out to J. Dilly busting donuts and rims
Shimmy yah! Screwface in the city of Sin
Knocking back 7 Grand Whiskey Ginger and Gin
Ever since was that bitty from Jamaica, Miss Chin
Westcoast Vancity on the come up again
In this big bad world without the gangster within
Gotta make your mark girl with a pad and a pen
And I’m steady robbering industry for a fin
Then I take it to the streets for a twinny twin twin
Jeans sag, nickel bag, grimace I am –
Tag them drippy drippy tags out my Lioness den
Hold it down til I stack all the chips in the bank,
Paper chasing for my freedom, or an ocean and tan, I get it in.

Verse 3
Po Po on the corner then carry on,
Vampire dem a crawl in Babylon
If you roll through the hood where yute a gwaan
Whoot Whoot (police siren) it’s not your day now

D.O.M. (Death Of Music) by SJB

Music duo SJB dropped the music video for their single “D.O.M. (Death Of Music)” off their “It Feels Good” album. The song offers commentary of the state of music these days. Music is more about the money and the fame than about the art. It’s gone down hill. Where the real music at? The big record labels are cranking out the same song with the same concepts. SJB wants to bring back real music. You can get the track on D.O.M (Death Of Music) - It Feels Good or amazon.
