Take A Number music video by Baiyu

Take A Number music video by Baiyu

Singer Baiyu released the music video for her single “Take A Number“. Music is the heartbeat of the artist, and for Baiyu, the song is the rhythm to her heartbeat. Out to prove to the world that what you may deem impossible is only her starting point, Baiyu warns all the non-believers to step aside and Take A Number. Set in Queens, New York, Eif Rivera captures not only the energy of the lively neighborhood, but also the pulse of the song. This melody is off of Baiyu’s EP Fan Fair, and is ready for download here.

… remember, all proceeds from the sales of Fan Fair go directly to the Japanese Red Cross in their tsunami relief efforts…

Check out Baiyu’s new look rolling into 2012 and showing her dance moves as well. Listen to more Baiyu: Make Believe, I Miss You For Now , Together, Sweet Misery, Take a Number, and When We Dance.

THE GROOVE SALON
SFIAAFF has long celebrated the contributions of Asian American artists to the fabric of musical life. In the Groove Salon, we bring together two Directions in Sound artists to go beyond performance to talk life and shop. Hear DJ Neil Armstrong and HOTTUB meet up in conversation/collaboration to create a song with the audience. They are from different parts of a musical spectrum but both are innovative musicians that challenge the boundaries of hip-hop. During the salon, they will play samples of their work, speak about their experiences as musicians, and give the attendees a taste of the creative process. This is a participatory event, so come prepared to ask questions and contribute to the song!

Featuring:
DJ NEIL ARMSTRONG // (previously described)
HOTTUB // LeHeat Records / Members: Coco Machete-vox, Ambr33zy-vox, LoliPop-vox, Jaysonik-producer, Funky Finger Mark-keyboards
Oakland based quintet HOTTUB has been busting out jams since 2005. HOTTUB draws from dancehall, punk, Miami Bass and girl group pop to create their hype sound, and their live show is full of crowd antics, makeshift slip & slides and tricked out, thrift-store-fabulous outfits.

Doin’ The Landry by Jin

Doin' The Landry by Jin

Rapper Jin dropped a new track “Doin’ The Landry” about the Knicks Landry Fields. The teammate and partner in crime on the court with Jeremy Lin gets a tribute from the emcee about his Christian faith and basketball skills. Jin shines the spotlight on Landry. Would LINSANITY even exist without this man’s couch? Even the the on court handshake between Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields gets a mention. You can download the track for FREE here.

Here’s more from Jin about the song:

…it might be good to take a moment and readjust the spotlight just slightly to acknowledge some of the figures who have played a key role in this Linderella Story according to the man himself.

Solid stats. Impressive performance at the Shooting Stars event this past weekend. Now would be a good time we all start #DoinTheLandry.

As much as Jeremy emphasizes the kind of positive encouragement that his buddy provides both on and off the court, you’d think someone would take initiative and show #2 some love! I got you!

Catch the JINSANITY. Also listen to his song “Nick of Time“.
