Gangnam Style hits US Pop Culture

Gangnam Style hits US Pop Culture

Over the past week, PSY’s Gangnam Style has hit the US Pop Culture scene. Not only has his viral invisible horse riding video spawned spoofs (Just Kidding Films Spoof and Byuntae Style by David So to name a few), but athletes and singers are also jumping on the band wagon. Singer Katy Perry is addicted:

Here’s some of the most viewed videos around the Net:

At a Los Angeles Dodger’s game against the San Francisco Giants on August 20, 2012, PSY and his Gangnam Style dance hit Dodger’s Stadium with PSY himself making an appearance on the Dance Cam.

Footage surfaced online with singer Nelly Furtado and her backup dancers showing her Gangnam Style at a concert in Manila

The Facebook Song by Dave Bak

The Facebook Song by Dave Bak

Singer David Bak released a music video for his single “The Facebook Song” off his new album “Voices”. In the video, he romances a girl online and offline. In this world of Facebook, he wants to make her the admin of his heart. He feels so strongly about her that he’s willing to deactivate his Facebook account. Skip the technology and live in reality.

The Facebook Song by Dave Bak

Lyrics to The Facebook Song by Dave Bak

I love it when you pop up on my newsfeed
I’ll make sure I like everything you say
You decorate my wall with smiley faces
And invite all your friends to join my fan page
You inbox me to tell me all your secrets
I’ll make you an admin to my heart to show you where I keep them

But you, make me want to
Deactivate my account
For Facebook can’t compare to what we have here right now
I know we live in a world where technology rules
But I rather share reality with you

It seems that things are complicated
Or at least that’s what our status says
But I don’t need a notification
To know that you will love me anyways
I think I fell in love with your smile
On your profile 🙂
It makes me want to visit you and log off right now

But you, make me want to
Deactivate my account
For Facebook can’t compare to what we have here right now
I know we live in a world where technology rules
But I rather share reality with you
