Randall Park as Asian Jim Halpert on The Office

Randall Park as Asian Jim Halpert on The Office

In last night episode of The Office, you might have caught Randall Park as Asian Jim Halpert on the opening skit of The Office. Dwight is perplexed out of his mind when Pam and Jim have their actor friend Steve pretend to be Jim for the morning. The Asian man sitting at the desk next to him dresses like Jim, but is clearly an imposter. The man greets Dwight and assures Dwight that he is in fact Jim Halpert. Dwight calmly tells him that he can’t be Jim; Jim’s not Asian. The imposter smiles and compliments Dwight on not seeing race. Dwight grows more and more confused as Asian Jim talks about work – and even enters Jim’s voicemail password. In interview, Pam reveals that Steve (aka Asian Jim) is an actor friend of hers and Jim’s. When Dwight sees Pam and Asian Jim exchange a casual kiss, he begins to panic. He hastily picks up a framed photo from the desk to see the real Jim, only to see a family photo of Pam, Asian Jim, and two Asian American kids. It’s a prank for the ages, courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Halpert and their buddy Steve.

Grave Torture : short film

Grave Torture : short film

Indonesian director Joko Anwar released the first video “Grave Torture” of the Silent Terror series. Every video in the series has no dialogue, but that doesn’t mean it’s not scary. Mourning the death of his serial killer father, a boy enters his dad’s casket and soon finds himself buried alive. A local Indonesian religious belief states, “When a person dies, he/she will wake up inside the grave, to receive punishment for bad deeds they did when they were alive.” This will put some chills down your spine. Excellent acting from this little boy.

More about Silent Terror
In celebration of Halloween and the month of October, the YOMYOMF Network will present a special anthology of horror short films directed by four of Asia’s top horror directors. The hand-picked directors will be crafting eerie tales influenced by urban legends, local ghost stories, and ancient traditions that make the Asian horror genre a prominent staple in modern cinema, yet translate universally through the horror genre. Entitled SILENT TERROR, this special series will have a common thread that creates an interesting obstacle for each director to tell their scary tale: no dialogue.

Lyrics to You & the Nite by LEO37

Against the crescent
The ruby glows bright
Give light
Stars map the path of sole plights
Everything is beautiful in the shade all despite
The most genuine love
The most hideous fights
Draped in the radiance of grand satellite
We right every wrong of the day and take flight
Wings spread with no fear of the sun to burn sight
Bleed for the heavens
Reclaiming all heights
Clash for the dusk to remain as it must
And we mush to maintain this stage
So ignite
Starbursts and twilight pinpoint my position
Shed love to strike blows against our afflictions
Hold off the daybreak
Can’t stand incandescence
And lovely as it is
I strive with eve incentives
Go ahead with the flow
But the ebb has my affection
So every push I make
I pull for your inception
Against the crescent
I stand so effervescent
Glowin
Intangibles make up a mans presence
Trace out the heavens
Lay the sun down to rest
God bless
Let the eve fill your chest
Now Breathe
