YOMYOMF released another creepy short for Halloween entitled “Go Fish”. A boy’s intense card game of Go Fish with his stuffed animals gets interrupted by an annoying babysitter. She wants him to go to sleep but he just won’t listen. Is the boy talking to his toy or is there someone else in the house?
Freddie Wong and his crew take on the video game franchise Hitman in their latest short. Agent 47 infiltrates a porn shoot with Christie Stevens to take out his mark. Plenty of sharp shooting gunplay. It’s a Hitman flick the way a Hitman flick should be.
Rapper Trin Monsta working on putting together a final EP of unreleased works. The single “What You Think Is Cool” is a taste of what you can expect. The party track has Trin Monsta x Ivan Ives bringing the fire. Time to bump this song on the way to the club.
Rappers Sonny Bonoho x Cassow team up for the single “I’m Sorry”. Like the prodigal son, the duo finds religion again and apologetically wants to go back to church. The repentant track explores the deep thoughts and feelings from a person with clear vision on life. It’s unlike previous Sonny Bonoho songs.
Nomi of Power Struggle released the music video for the single “Mr. Sagittarius” off their “Remittances” album. The track tells the story of Nomi’s life, from his upbringing as an immigrant youth in the post-industrial city of St. Paul MN, to his nomadic years as a traveling rapper on the open road. Feeling tired and unfulfilled as a rapper, Nomi ended up in San Francisco hoping to start anew. He became a basic laborer, which eventually led to his involvement in community and labor causes. These experiences develop his political ideology, helping him understand his life as a whole. What sets this song apart from other hip-hop narratives is that it tells the story from a variety of spaces and places, connecting the issues that affect local working-class families, to things that are happening on an international level. The melancholy tone of the song is reflected in the video with images from the working-class districts throughout San Francisco. The foggy street scenes are quintessential when representing the City. The lighting and grainy coloration make it feel an old detective film.
Part Korean Rapper J. Lately dropped the music video for the title track off his “Daydreams and Warm Nights” mixtape. In the video, he enjoys a chill day in the pool while drinking and smoking. He doesn’t have a care in the world as he plays hard. Super chill in the pool.
