New Creation by AMP

New Creation by AMP

Music group AMP (Sam Ock, J. Han and C.L.) dropped a music video for their track “New Creation”. Once again, they share about their Christian faith. This time the share how they have become a new creation through salvation. Inspired by the Bible verse 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.), the group creates a whole song around leaving the past and living anew. There’s a message in those lyrics.

Lyrics to New Creation by AMP

Hook:
Oh, I am a new creation
Given new life through salvation
Livin’ in regeneration
And I shout to the nations (oh)

J.Han:
Yo, I’m feeling like a new man.
Given a purpose; now I got a new plan.
Done with the juvenile; Now I’m pruning out
all my childish ways, bye Peter Pan.
Homie, let me get my grown-man on
by putting on the garments of Christ!
Did you know a real man is the one who loves God,
not the person winning every single fight.
We’re invited to a celebration, a banquet.
It’s not the time for stoic, get sanguine.
Dance for the Lord, we got no shame.
We’ll boogie to the rhythm and make a soul train.
Let’s fill up the streets with our praise,
and get ’em thinking it’s a Macy Day Parade!
Get up! Go ahead and get your groove on.
They say we’re crazy; but we’ll keep on rolling
like an oolong.

Bridge:
get up and run, yea we get up and go
got a new sound hear the heavenly flow (ho!)

CL:
Regenerated, deviated from a sinful life, alleviated
By Jesus Christ, recreated, new nature, my season
changes Desired sin, inebriated; now desire Him reinstated
To the family of God, feast is waiting, for His
children whose faith ceased to be shaken
A new man with new plans, given by the Father,
Ephesians 2:10 Living in the One who sits on the right
hand Clothed in the garments of the God/Man
Branching out from a new Vine, with a new life
Yielding fruit from the true Light, given new sight
Living proof of the true might driven through Christ
Regenerated, this generations taking the nations to
new heights

Sam Ock:
For the past and I are through
for You have set me free
From my flesh and now I’m grounded in Your truth
So Lord won’t You heed my cry
leave my heart dissatisfied
with anything but You
with anything

Asian Superman picks up girls

Asian Superman picks up girls

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s from Asia! Asian Superman (Kong of Simple Pickup) flies out and uses his powers to pick up hot girls and get their numbers. Here’s the backstory for Asian Superman:

Asian Superman was born Bành-Cao on the alien planet Vietnam. His parents, Châu-Chu and Charlotte become aware of Vietnam’s impending destruction and Châu-Chu begins constructing a spacecraft that would carry Bành-Cao to Earth. During Vietnam’s last moments, Châu-Chu places young Bành-Cao in the spacecraft and launches it. Châu-Chu and Charlotte die as the spacecraft barely escapes Krypton’s fate. The explosion transforms planetary debris into kryptonite, a radioactive substance that is lethal to Bành-Cao.

The spacecraft lands in the rural United States, where it is found by a passing motorist. These people adopt Bành-Cao and names him Kong. As Kong grows up on Earth, he and his adoptive parents discover that he has superhuman powers. His parents then teach Kong to use these powers responsibly to help others and fight crime. But Kong soon realizes he has a deeper responsibility. That of which to pick up girls with his super powers. Kong doesn’t keep his powers secret because he realizes that he’s a boss.

Superman wears a characteristic red and blue costume with a letter “S” emblem and a cape. Unlike other Supermans, Kong doesn’t wear glasses, though he does style his hair. Kong moved to the city and took a job as a BOSS, where he met his friends and co-workers, Jesse and Jason, who also end up developing special superhero powers. It was then Superman decided to group up the entire group’s powers to help begin Simple Pickup.

Be on the look out for Asian Superman.

Millions web series trailer

Millions web series trailer

After about 2 years in the making, the Millions Web Series is slated to be released in 2013. As the production for season 1 draws to an end, the team behind the series released and updated trailer. You finally get a sneak peek of scenes from the entire first season of the series. (we even saw a quick glimpse of rapper J.Reyez) Here’s more about the series:

MILLIONS is the story of twenty-somethings, Brandon (the dreamer), Deron (the black sheep), Mary (the tomboy), Charlie (the cynic), Lia (the girl next door), Jay (the playboy), and Eddie (the brain). They work mediocre 9 to 5 jobs, and waste away their nights bumming the streets aimlessly. The emptiness of their lives makes them apathetic, but not enough to do anything about it.

Until a tragedy hits the group that sparks Brandon on a quest.

In high school, the friends made a pact to become millionaires by the age of 30. It was a childish dream that faded with time. But after recent events, Brandon refuses to let it go any longer. He persuades his friends to join him in becoming the millionaires they once promised each other they’d be. And prove to each other that dreams aren’t something easily forgotten.

Millions stars Andrew “Pyro” Chung (as Deron), Ben Brillantes (as Jay), Hubert Tran (as Brandon), Jasmine Chen (as Mary), Lee “Lethal” Pham (as Eddie), Stephan Kim (as Charlie), Ins Choi (as Ron), and Sarah Lian (as Lia).

Daniel Dae Kim wants you to vote and send you to Hawaii

Daniel Dae Kim wants you to vote and send you to Hawaii
In a facebook post yesterday, actor Daniel Dae Kim decided to hold an online contest to send one lucky voter to Hawaii and spend time on the set of Hawaii Five-O. Here’s more from Daniel Dae Kim about the contest:

Show me you voted and you could win a free trip to Hawaii for two with a 3 night hotel stay, plus a set visit to Hawaii Five-0! #iVoted

Hi folks-

In an effort to encourage all of us to vote I thought I might do more than your usual PSA or well meaning-tweet. I’ve decided to hold a little online contest where the winner will get to spend some time here in paradise and visit the set of Hawaii Five-0.

Here’s what you need to do to enter:

1. GO OUT AND VOTE! It doesn’t matter whether it’s early voting, absentee voting, or the old fashioned go-to-the-polls kind. It doesn’t even matter who you vote for. Just get out there and do your thing.
2. Show me proof. Take a picture of yourself at the polling station, or with your postage ready absentee ballot – something to show me that you did your part to shape the future of our country. Then ATTACH THE PHOTO TO A TWEET AND SEND IT TO ME WITH THE HASHTAG: #iVoted
3. Wait until November 9, when I will go through the submissions FROM THOSE WHO FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER and announce the winner!

How will I choose the winner?
I will copy all of the tweets from followers who attached their photo along with the hashtag #iVoted and store them starting today, so early voters get just as much of a chance as those who vote on November 6th. In fact, voting early will probably help you get noticed and counted since so many more of us will be voting on Election Day. The more definitively you can show me you voted, the better your chance of winning. If it’s kind of questionable based on the pic, I may not count you in for the final round. On the other hand, if you take the time to show me a little flair or creativity with your post or photo, it may not guarantee you’ll win, but it will definitely help you catch my eye and get put into that final selection group. From there, I’ll pool all the eligible submissions and choose someone randomly.

Once chosen, the winner will be personally contacted by me on twitter, and we’ll start making travel plans!
I’ll fly you and a guest to Honolulu from wherever you live in the CONTINENTAL US, ALASKA or even HAWAII (in case you don’t live on Oahu :). You and your guest will stay at the Modern Hotel in Waikiki (courtesy of me and the good folks there), where you’ll stay for 3 nights. All travel should be complete by the end of February 2013. On one of those days you’ll also get to visit the set of Hawaii Five-0 as my guest and watch us shoot.

That’s it! Now I’m kinda new at this whole contest thing, so I don’t know all the legal mumbo jumbo, but hopefully everyone who participates will do it in good faith just like I am. Feel free to retweet this link to all your friends, but be sure to tell them that if they want to participate, they must follow my account so I can be in touch with the winner.

*Finally, as a little added BONUS, on Election Day I’ll go online to hold a live tweet session (I’ll let you know the time later) with all those who entered, just to say thanks for doing your part.

Thanks so much for reading this very long post, and thanks even more for voting. In the election of 2000, a difference of only 536 votes decided the presidency of the United States. Your vote CAN make a difference. Let’s make it count.

Good luck!

Unnecessary by Mug Shot x Hydroponikz

Unnecessary by Mug Shot x Hydroponikz

New York rappers Mug Shot x Hydroponikz connect in Queens to bring you the music video “Unnecessary” off Mug Shot’s upcoming debut solo project entitled “Punching Clocks”. A group of masked men have assembled holding golf clubs, shovels and sledge hammers. Think black hoodies, timberlands and face masks. Picture things breaking, low angled spot lighting and stoic posse shots. At first glance, the scene could easily be mistaken for the early stages of a mid 90s back-alley dust-up, but upon closer inspection it becomes clear that these men bear a purpose greater than empty violence. They put a retro look to their current sound. Coupled with the refrain of “bring only what’s needed” and the listing of seemingly “unnecessary” items such as Instagram, menthol cigarettes and porno, the images of shattered household materials help to high light the songs irony by creating visual art through the act of destruction. With the destruction by Superstorm Sandy, the song makes you take a step back and reflect on what really are necessities in our modern world.
