Viet Pham on Extreme Chefs Season 2

Viet Pham on Extreme Chefs Season 2

Seven of America’s most-fearless chefs test their physical prowess, mental toughness and culinary skills on Extreme Chef, hosted by TV veteran and seasoned world traveler Marsh Mokhtari. The grueling and seemingly impossible culinary challenges are judged by a rotating panel of notable guest judges, including Simon Majumdar (Next Iron Chef judge and food journalist), Ben Sargent (host of Cooking Channel’s Hook, Line & Dinner), and Troy Johnson (host of Crave, food critic and journalist). Over the course of five episodes, from the scorching deserts of California to the exotic jungles of Thailand, the chefs test their physical prowess, mental toughness and culinary skills as they compete in grueling and seemingly impossible culinary challenges including pulling out needles from a cactus pad to create a tasty dish, and creating a meal in 60 minutes on a floating dock, while the chefs rescue their ingredients from a capsized fishing boat in the ocean. In the end, only one chef will be the most extreme while taking home a $50,000 grand prize.

In the Doomsday Survival episode, contestants are dropped into Salton City, California, an abandoned post-apocalyptic wasteland, where they’re left to scavenge for ingredients and tools. In the Coast Guard Cook-Off episode, chefs create dishes using military MREs (Meal, Ready to Eat) and a seafood protein that they pull up from traps in the water. In the Desert Survival episode, they cook like the Native American Indians with spiny cactus and build their own fires and constructing knives using nothing but an obsidian rock. In the “Off to Thailand” episode, chefs obtain ingredients from the Damneon Saduak Floating Market, negotiate with vendors, and begin cooking right on the boat. In the final episode “The $50,000 Bite”, the finalists begin the biggest culinary adventure of their lives by cooking a vegetarian dish while standing in the middle of the flowing river in Chiang Mai.

Bobby Lee on Animal Practice on NBC

Bobby Lee on Animal Practice on NBC

Bobby Lee stars in NBC’s new comedy series “Animal Practice” as Dr. Yamamoto, an offbeat veterinarian who is devoted to his practice, but equally devoted to gambling and partying with the rest of the staff. Here’s more about the show:

“Animal Practice” is a new comedy centering on Dr. George Coleman (Justin Kirk, “Weeds,” “Angels in America”), a top veterinarian with an impressive list of famous animal patients at the Crane Animal Hospital – a bustling New York City veterinary practice where it often seems as if the patients are running the place. Despite his unorthodox style, George has an undeniable gift with animals of all kinds – except the human kind. Much to his chagrin, George recently learned that his ex-girlfriend, Dorothy Crane (JoAnna Garcia Swisher, “Better with You”), has inherited the family business and is now George’s boss. Whip-smart and ambitious, Dorothy shakes up the hospital as she brings order to the chaos and butts heads with George’s animal-friendly administration.

Tyler Labine (“Reaper,” “Sons of Tucson”) plays Dr. Doug Jackson, a vet who’s great with animals, but hapless in matters of the heart; Bobby Lee (“Harold & Kumar”) stars as Dr. Yamamoto; Kym Whitley (“We Bought a Zoo”) stars as Juanita; and newcomer Betsy Sodaro (“The Nick Show Kroll”) stars as Nurse Angela. Dr. Rizzo, the resident capuchin monkey at Crane Animal Hospital and George’s closest companion is played by Crystal (“The Hangover II,” NBC’s “Community”).

More about Bobby Lee
A native of San Diego, California, Lee was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps, running the family clothing store. After stints in a local rock band and at the local community college, he was spotted by Frank Burns, the legendary manager of La Jolla’s Comedy Store.

In 1995, Pauly Shore saw Lee onstage and asked the young comedian to open for him in Las Vegas. It was at that point that Lee met Shore’s mother, the celebrated owner of the Comedy Store, Mitzi Shore. Lee became a regular at the club, and also went on the road with the comic Carlos Mencia.

Lee went on to gain success from there, including landing a cast role on “MADtv.” Joining the show in 1999, Lee quickly became an audience favorite on the long-running sketch show, which in total aired for 14 seasons. Lee became known for his unique brand of pain‐inducing, physical humor. He created such memorable original characters as the comically confused film critic Johnny Gan, the world’s worst interpreter Bae Sung, and hapless warrior the Blind Kung Fu Master. Audiences have loved his takes on such real‐world figures as Connie Chung and North Korean President Kim Jong-il, and a memorable take on presidential hopeful John McCain.

Lee’s film credits include “Kickin’ It Old School” and “Killer Pad”; both features will be released later this year. In summer 2004, he appeared in the big screen comedy “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.” Lee also appeared in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Mind of Mencia,” and has performed stand‐up on “Late Friday,” “Premium Blend” and NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

He currently lives in Los Angeles.

In a modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes, the iconic detective is taking on New York. ELEMENTARY stars Jonny Lee Miller as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases. Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, eccentric Sherlock escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare – a sober companion, Dr. Watson. A successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her license three years ago, Watson views her current job as another opportunity to help people, as well as paying a penance. However, the restless Sherlock is nothing like her previous clients. He informs her that none of her expertise as an addiction specialist applies to him and he’s devised his own post-rehab regimen – resuming his work as a police consultant in New York City. Watson has no choice but to accompany her irascible new charge on his jobs. But Sherlock finds her medical background helpful, and Watson realizes she has a knack for playing investigator. Sherlock’s police contact, Capt. Tobias “Toby” Gregson (Aidan Quinn), knows from previous experience working with Scotland Yard that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, and welcomes him as part of the team. With the mischievous Sherlock Holmes now running free in New York solving crimes, it’s simple deduction that he’s going to need someone to keep him grounded, and it’s elementary that it’s a job for Watson.
