Brookwood High soccer-turned-football star Erick Yang is causing a stir in Georgia. Although the athlete is new to football, the kicker has already developed a very impressive talent. Utilizing his soccer skills, Yang can kick the football with either feet. He is right-footed, but in practice he has kicked off into the end zone and made field goals of 30 yards and longer with his left foot. Yang said the longest field goal he has made at practice with his right foot is 60 yards and 45 yards with his left foot. Within 3 months, he’s developed into one of the state’s top kickers. The 5-foot-9, 150-pound Yang blasts 60 percent of his kickoffs into the end zone. Look for him in the collegiate ranks soon.
