Pow Wow Drums by Bambu x DJ Muggs

Off the upcoming “Los Angeles, Philippines” mixtape, Bambu and DJ Muggs teamed up for the track “Pow Wow Drums”. The song addresses the concern about Arizona’s SB1070. Bambu states that “AZ SB1070 is a violation of basic rights, allowing law enforcement to profile citizens based on race. We cannot sit still and allow this to continue! Strategically boycott Arizona!” He speaking up for the immigrants.

Rock/rap band afterschoolspecial has teamed up with Wong Fu Productions for their music video for their song NAME featuring Paul Dateh. It’s dedicated to every “mystery girl” we happen to meet in our lives. From the one that got away to the girl with no name (but dark hair and tight frame). This little ditty is for you. The full music video drop on November 2, 2010. Jeremy Lin preseason highlights

Finally, Jeremy Lin gets some real playing time on the courts in the preseason. He got 18 minutes of play time against the Los Angeles Lakers. With his time, he added stats in several columns including 3 points, 4 assists, 3 rebs, and 3 steals. He’s got a real good eye for finding the open man. There have been more request to interview Jeremy Lin than any other player except Stephen Curry. Who’s ready for basketball season?

Apparently, Jin is also making track called “Warriors” inspired by Jeremy Lin. Read more here.

Infinity Funk Project mini-documentary

The Infinity Funk Project based out of San Francisco California stand by the phrase “four funky emcees collaborating as one”. The Hip Hop group comprised of 4 emcees: Mild Mannerd J, Mikey Manifest, Viberoc, and Sol Solution. They came together to promote values of hip hop culture that they felt had been diminishing. By the end of the first couple of sessions, they realized the music they were making together could have a much bigger impact than they thought. It was at that point the 4 emcees had turned into a group, the “Infinity Funk Project”.

With all 4 members having similar tastes and backgrounds in hip hop music, the group had one simple premise and goal: to bring back the funk. The group focuses their music on feel good vibes as well as positive and conscious messages. However, with each member adding distinct and separate styles, each song takes on a completely unique feel.

In the mini- documentary, the group shares their musical influences as well as showcase their lyrical talents. Learn more about “Infinity Funk Project”.

My Name is Seven Casting Call

Director John P. Raposas, the guy behind Lexationships and the short Mother, has written a new short dance film that is shooting next week starring members of Quest Crew (America’s Best Dance Crew Season 3 champs) and Yuri Tag of Kaba Modern 6 (the team that competed on America’s Best Dance Crew). They are in desperate need of extras in the Los Angeles Area. This is a rare opportunity for you to dance along side with top Asian American dancers. If you can dance and are in the LA Area, here’s the info to audition:

An independent short urban dance film to be shot Monday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 26 in Los Angeles is looking for dancers (Monday and Tuesday) and background extras (Tuesday) for two scenes, a dance studio scene and dance party/cypher.

Tuesday should be exciting as we will have a dance battle/cypher scene where the protagonist has to show his stuff to get the girl. Background dancers should be versed in hip-hop/urban dance choreography. Please indicate if you can freestyle (not needed) as well.

Linkin Park will be hosting the first ever International LPU Summit experience for fans on November 10-11, 2010 in London, England. This interactive event runs over the course of two days, surrounding Linkin Park’s performance at the O2 Arena on November 11. Fans attending the Summit will have exclusive opportunities to:
