Lyrics to Hourglass by Manifest x C-Note

(Manifest)
Life is movin in full speed, i’m losing touch with the truth
and my heart is suffering too, what i foresee is
verses getting more cheap, compromised poetry
but numb to it like morphine, as long as there are more fiends i’m good
it’s what i tell myself, satisfied with clientele
and of course dream of one day when i’m driving in a Porsche seat
i was never the type to rush, but what’s this urgent feeling?
that i ain’t worth that much, if i ain’t worth a million
hangliding over my thoughts is my damn pride
motioning toward the trophies of course it makes a man blind
our hearts and minds are fickle, there’s nothing that we stick to
and if the Lord exists the word of God should be my missiles
i’m brittle, i’m breaking away, i’m slipping and makin that spiritual minimum wage
basically i’m plateauing.
but money’s a mirage, fame is ever fleeting
and even though i know this i chase em like it’s my job, why?

*I want to make it, but i wanna go beyond that
i want success that doesn’t come wit written contracts
i wanted the world and everything that came wit it, its way different
cuz what i’m after now is way beyond rap

(C-Note)
You have a heart of a champion but haven’t felt the victory
in a long while,
sick of these cards all scramblin

luck of the draw but call it gamblin
hourglass is sayin the time is now, excuses stay ramblin
a party tonight, church in the morning
say you droppin in
you aint gon make it
 disappoint ya mom and them

stay prayin for you after she pops that ambient

say the Lords ya doctor, she would be ya ambulance
I pray to God like its a final exam
my prayers ain’t genuine, I just cram in advance

before you walk into a church right before that meal right?
if I do it genuinely, i’m good right?
i tell myself i gotta do wut i do now to ensure
tomorrow’s blessings. not you but me that needs a message
i pray for the presence…pray for the essence
i pray you find a canvas for this blank expression

*

(Manifest)
the pressure’s stacking, the sense of direction lackin
but i put my best in action before it all blows into ashes
before the game’s over, here’s a makeover
after that the take over, guaranteed to make you say “nova”
i got a team that i consider the illest
but is the beautiful cycle fulfilling its definition?
i realize i need to stand for this wit knuckles up
otherwise beneath the shine it just gets covered up
imperfect, but this verse is first person
there’s a lot of things i’ve done i wish i could reverse
started off strong with the light i was immersed in
but somewhere down the road came the darkness that i’ve merged with
i don’t admit defeat but crippled just a little
eating from the bad fruit’s the same as taking nibbles
so brave is His friendship, entrusting us with talents and gifts
but he believes in us even when we’re calloused a bit

hourglass…

time is ticking by, life is on a different vibe
say you like it and love it and you would die for it
until it’s over never try to push the time forward

Blackout by Linkin Park

Blackout is another track off Linkin Park’s upcoming album “A Thousand Suns”. The lyrics video features a very glitch-heavy effect, used to mirror not only the chaotic and serene dynamics of the song itself but also the overall approach the band have taken with the new album. (Watch Meeting A Thousand Suns.) The song starts with a heavy metal feel, but ends calmly, almost joyously. It an interesting juxtaposition of two music genres.

A Thousand Suns drops on 9.14.10. (Pre-order here.) Tonite at 9pm, Linkin Park will perform “The Catalyst” live on TV for the first time ever at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

Lyrics to Blackout by Linkin Park

I’m stuck in this bed you made
Alone with a sinking feeling
I saw through the words you said
To the secrets you’ve been keeping
It’s written upon your face
All the lies how they cut so deeply
You can’t get enough you take
And take and take and never say

No / you’ve gotta get it inside
You push it back down / You push it back down No / you’ll never get it inside Push it back down Black out Blood in your eye

You say that it’s not your fault
And swear that I am mistaken
You said it’s not what it seems
No remorse for the trust you’re breaking You run but then back you fall Suffocate in the mess you’re making You can’t get enough you take And take and take and take and take F*ck it Are you listening?

No / you’ve gotta get it inside
You push it back down / You push it back down No / you’ll never get it inside Push it back down / You push it back down No / you’ve gotta get it inside You push it back down / You push it back down No / you’ll never get it inside Push it back down Black out Blood in your eye

Floating down / as colors fill the light We look up from the ground / in fields of paperwhite And floating up / you pass us in the night A future gazing out / a past to overwrite So come down / far below We’ve been waiting to collect the things you know Come down / far below We’ve been waiting to collect what you’ve let go

Come down
Oh

Metal on Metal by Bastard

Metal on Metal by Bastard

Originally, Metal on Metal by Bastard went viral late last year, but recently made small comeback. The disturbing video has a bloodlust crowd cheering at a grenade ping pong deathmatch. The music video is a statement about today’s society much like Born Free by M.I.A.. It’s a simple music video yet complex and deep on so many levels. The lyrics “I forgot my name” repeats over this intense video. It will have you captivated, but the ending won’t be pretty.

FYI – The Red Team is played by Belinda Lee and The Blue Team by Micky Lung

La La La by D-Pryde

D-Pryde reworked Mac Miller’s “La La La” track with his own freeverse. He wrote and recorded the verse in 15 minutes. And he even shot a music video in the same day. We don’t know how he pulled this all off in one day, but he did. Apparently, D-Pryde loves his Arizona Iced Tea. (He dropped another Arizona reference in Holla at Me.) You can download the remade track for FREE here.
