The MTV web series “Status Updates” kicks off with episode 1 entitled “Tag Wars”. Scott starts dating Melanie, and Maggie insists it’s not awkward for her to hang out with them as a third wheel. But when Melanie tags unflattering photos of Maggie on Facebook, it’s obvious that things aren’t that friendly. Scott needs to figure out how he wants to handle these relationships, while Maggie debates whether to untag her bad pics. Meanwhile, Audrey (Vivian Bang) decides to try online dating, but doesn’t get the results she’s looking for. Should she change her criteria to get better results?
Chef Eddie Huang continues his Fresh Off The Boat series in Miami. He links up with 2 Live Crew rapper Uncle Luke at strip club to taste Luke’s pick of the best BBQ in town. Case and point, the cars lined up in the lot come more for the food than the girls. After eating sauced up St Louis ribs and smoked chicken, Eddie and the “Mayor of Miami” take a stroll down the street to another of Luke’s hood favorites, the conch truck. Uncle Luke gives Eddie the VIP treatment.
Director Kevin Tancharoen’s long awaited and highly anticipated Mortal Kombat Legacy is about to return. Looks like plenty of Asian American actors/actresses got roles with the series. The Mortal Kombat Legacy continues in Season 2 as Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kenshi, and Ermac join the ranks.
