Chinatown Center in Austin gets foreclosed

Sad news out of Austin. Chinatown Center is one of Austin’s Asian American community key points of interest. The site is now a victim of foreclosure. With the bad economy, stores stand vacant and parking lots empty. What once represented a growing and cohesive Asian American population in Austin is in danger of going away. The center is appraised at nearly $23 million and is going up for auction March 3.
