Laura Ling and Euna Lee sentenced to 12 years in jail

Last week, there were vigils for Laura Ling and Euna Lee held from coast to coast. Prior to that Lisa Ling, hit the TV airwaves to get visibility for Laura Ling and Euna Lee on the Today Show, Nightline, and Larry King.

Reports are coming out of North Korea that the two U.S. journalists have been sentenced to 12 years in labor camps. Laura Ling and Euna Lee were “guilty” of “grave crime they committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing.”

We hope that the US government will take more urgent steps to get the pair out of North Korea. Free Laura Ling and Euna Lee!! More details of the sentencing can be found here.

    The US government should have direct dialogue with North Korea instead of having a Swiss go-between. Open up discussions.
