Domo in your local 7-11 store

Last year, Domo was hangin’ out at Target. This year you’ll see Domo at your local 7-11 store. It’s like the Simpsons takeover a couple years ago when several 7-11’s became Kwik-E-Marts. Domo will be everywhere in the store from coffee cups to hot dog containers to slupree cups & straws. There will also be a new slurpee flavor “Fuji Frost,” which has a sweet red-apple taste. The apple flavor is a play on the food Domo doesn`t like. Watch Domo drinking his first slurpee below. Domo will be in 7-eleven’s until November 15, 2009.

Will Domo be the next Hello Kitty?

A Village Called Versailles

A Village Called Versailles is getting a good amount of buzz on the Asian American film festival circuit right now. Here’s a synopsis:

“A Village Called Versailles” is a full-length documentary about Versailles, a community in eastern New Orleans first settled by Vietnamese refugees. After Hurricane Katrina, Versailles residents have impressively risen to the challenges by returning and rebuilding before most neighborhoods in New Orleans, only to have their homes threatened by a new government-imposed toxic landfill just two miles away. “A Village Called Versailles” will recount the empowering story of how this group of people, who has already suffered so much in their lifetime, turns a devastating disaster into a catalyst for change and a chance for a better future.

The film has recently played at the 2009 DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival. Other upcoming screenings include the 2009 Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, the 2009 Hawaii International Film Festival, and the 2009 San Diego Asian Film Festival,
