Dizaster calls out Jin again with racist video

While at BANANA over the weekend, someone from the audience asked the question about handling racism. Here’s a classic case of racism happening. Dizaster made a video in response to the Jin vs Dizaster and Illmaculate battle that didn’t happen. His video calling out Jin is just racist! In the almost 10 minute rant, he spews all kinds of ching-chong crap and wears a lampshade on his head as he cries out for the attention of Jin. It’s the kinda of stuff most Asian American kids had to deal with at one point or another in school. We all have different ways of dealing with racism. Some ignore it, while others confront it. If you were in Jin’s shoes, how would you deal with this?

Jin posted a video response to Dizaster. He takes the high road in the video. Jin was in Los Angeles on the dates he stated. GrindTime didn’t have their act together to make the battles happen while he was out there. However, he may be battling Dizaster and Illmaculate at Battle of LA 3. Stay tuned. Love the “Learn English” bit directed toward Dizaster.

We deal with this racist video by showing Dizaster choking and losing. After watching some Dizaster battles, his weakness seems to occur when he gets called out on his presentation style. Watch him choke in this battle with Locksmith at the 9:02 mark.

Also watch PH (formerly Pumpkinhead) taking apart Dizaster here. PH at the 6:34 mark is the best.

Ninja Assassin

We’re hearing a mixed reviews about Ninja Assassin. The best take we’ve heard on the film is from the IFC podcast. The show actually delves into why it’s still rare for Asian and Asian American actors to get non-martial arts leading roles. Listen to the podcast with mentions of Rain and Sung Kang.

We’re surprised that Rain didn’t make an appearance on the Colbert Report yet to promote the film. (Remember the Rain vs Stephen Colbert danceoff?)

If you want to check out the movie, get your tickets to Ninja Assassin here.

Ninja Assassin synopsis

Raizo (Rain) is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them…and vanishes.

Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated.

Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive…and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
