Zig Zag by Sonny Bonoho x Money B

Zig Zag by Sonny Bonoho x Money B

Check out this funky music video for Zig Zag by Sonny Bonoho x Money B from Digital Underground. The track is off Sonny Bonoho’s new album Phonephreak. Love the beats to this song. The video reminds us of some of that old school Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy music videos. Time to zig zag. Seattle hip hop representin’.

Hypnotize by Karen David

Here’s the latest music video from singer/actress Karen David. This video is cut to the version of the Hypnotize song featuring Ishq Bector and Sonu Kakkar. Ishq Bector, like Karen grew up in Canada, but now lives in Mumbai, where he’s enjoyed major success in India with huge hits like Aye! Hip Hopper. Sonu Kakkar, comes from Rishikesh in Northern India, and is considered one of the hottest young singers in Mumbai right now. She has worked on several films with AR Rahman, most recently the soundtrack to BLUE. Babuji was a massive hit for her.

The video includes footage shot in Mumbia with Ishq and Sonu as well as footage shot in London with Karen David over a freezing cold snowy winters day in January. In amongst the dancers, there’s a cameo from producers Kully B and Gussy G. Look for more versions of this track in the coming weeks.

Asian American reality show TV mentions

Here’s some recent “news” coverage for the Asian American reality show being produced by Tyrese. There’s Asian stereotypes galore in these mentions on comedy shows. Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live (SNL) used a picture of an Asian girl with glasses playing a violin to illustrate the casting on the show.

Earlier in the week, entertainment reporter Michael Yo was on Chelsea Lately. He was excited about the show until the stereotype jokes came out from other panelists, which included mentions of martial arts, bowing, and doing math.
