Manny Pacquiao defeated Antonio Margarito by unanimous decision to capture the vacant WBC junior middleweight title. It’s his 8th boxing title in his eighth weight class. The pound for pound champion took on his biggest opponent ever with Margarito. Pacquiao’s unanimous 12 round decision for the title didn’t have Margarito winning a single round by the judges. Manny’s speed once again gave him the edge in what he lacked in size. Not only was Pacquiao disadvantaged in weight by about 17 pounds, but he also gave away 4½ inches in height and 6 inches reach. Before a crowd of over 40,000 people, he showed his dominance landing 474 punches to 229 for Margarito.
The next highly anticipated matchup is still Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather. Hope we will see it in the cards.
