VC Tim Chang talks Internet & Hollywood

Tim Chang is a Principal Partner at NorWest Venture Partners. Tim holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and an MS in electrical engineering/system engineering as well as a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He focuses on investments in wireless and digital media as well as business development initiatives in Asia-Pacific.

In this interview, he covers the changing shifts between Hollywood and Silicon Valley (can you say Hollywood 2.0?). With MySpace and Yahoo! in Los Angeles as well as the amount of money in Hollywood and number of celebrities, it only a matter of time when you see more entrepreneurs coming out of Hollywood. It’s already starting with weplay.com and ibeatyou.com. He also covers why an ad-support model is a lazy entrepreneurs business model. (Read: you need to sell stuff). Video analytics may be the next hot thing.
