ABC sued over Wipeout

Although Wipeout was renewed for a second season, the Japanese game show import has hit a snag. Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) sued ABC over the game show “Wipeout“. The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles claims that ABC infringed on the copyrights of Japanese television shows. TBS owns the Japanese copyright to the obstacle course series “Takeshi’s Castle,” co-owns the right to Spike TV’s “MXC” (which uses footage from “Takeshi’s Castle”) and owns the copyright to competition series “Sasuke” (aka “Ninja Warrior” on G4).
