For those in the San Francisco Bay Area, the lineup for the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival was announced today. Mark your calendar for March 12 – 22, 2009. Here’s some brief highlights:

opening night film : My Dear Enemy

centerpiece presentation : Fruit Fly

retrospective: Kiyoshi Kurrosawa (Pulse seems to be one of his hot films)

festival converstions: director Ang Lee and screenwriter Alex Tse (Watchmen)

closing night film: Treeless Mountain

Other notable films: Children of Invention and Heaven on Earth

Launch Party for the films festival is this Friday. Typically, the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival kicks off the Asian/Asian American film festival. So if you live outside of the Bay Area, you will see some of these films hitting your local film festival.
