Manny Pacquiao KOs Ricky Hatton in 2nd round

HBO’s special Pacquiao Hatton 24/7 led up to last night’s Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton fight. Manny Pacquiao pulverized Ricky Hatton in front of a sellout crowd of 16,262 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and an HBO Pay-Per-View audience. Pacquiao landed multiple right hooks to the face of Hatton in the first round. Hatton’s face was vey red by the middle of the round and he kept clinching Pacquiao. Pacquiao sent the Hatton to the canvas twice in the round. He almost knocked out Hatton at the end of round one with a flurry of punches.

In the second round, the brutal assault continued with a left hook by Pacquiao landed on Hatton’s chin dropping him on his back with seconds remaining in the round. Ricky Hatton was clearly knocked unconscious. He was on the canvas for a long time. Add this fight to the list of Manny Pacquiao’s Greatest Hits. Pacquiao is crowned the new IBO and Ring Magazine Light Welterweight Champion. Time to listen to Deep Foundation’s “Children of the Sun“. Download it for free here.

Reviewing the stat lines Pacquiao landed 73 of 127 punches (57%) vs Hatton landing 18 of 78 (27%). That’s completely lopsided. Pacquiao’s accuracy is deadly and once again his speed kills.

Manny Pacquiao is reminiscent of Mike Tyson in his prime. For those who played the NES, Remember Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. They should make a Pacquiao Punch Out game
