We Are One Island: Japan Relief Concert and Auction

An evening of honoring, remembrance and hope, We Are One Island will be emcee’d by Kara Tsuboi (Oakland A’s), beginning with a traditional ceremony led by the Buddhist Church of Oakland, followed by a video slideshow of local damage to critical areas. Offerings from the stage include performances by Marina Fukushima (Kunst-Stoff), Purple Moon Dance Project, Shirley Muramoto and Brian Wong, Michael Sasaki, Maze Daiko, RyuQ Murasaki Daiko, Asian Crisis, Sushi Cal Band, Dirty Boots, and Hip-Hop/Spoken Word artist, Colin “Senbei” Ehara. A silent auction will feature selected, original works by many well-known folks from the API arts community. 100% of the proceeds will go directly towards Japanese Community and Cultural Center of Northern California’s (JCCCNC) effective and established Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
