How to eat your Apple directed by Erick Oh

How to eat your Apple directed by Erick Oh
Director Erick Oh recently released his short film “”How to eat your Apple”. It’s an extension of Erick’s recent illustration series in the form of an animated poem. It is without a protagonist, a defined narrative, set point of camera view or any other aspect of mainstream film language. “How to eat your Apple” surrealistically portrays human nature and its essence in the circle of life, its change and death as shown by re-compositing various symbols and objects. This piece flows more like a moving illustration than an animated film, and connects to Erick’s other static illustration pieces and written stories which finally culminates to one big quintessential question on life. BE sure to also catch Erick’s other animated short “Way Home“.

Lyrics to Crush ‘em Like Godzilla by Only Won

No guts no glory, Here I come harder,
put it all on the line, ready to die like a Martyr.
pressin’ to the prize, we were called to bring it all
some call me a monster, I say I’m just like y’all.
‘cept I’m a little bit faster, a little bit stronger!
a little bit smarter, put up with pain longer!
comin’ to you different than days of old
with a nuclear explosion, I’m here to break the mold!

Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
Filla, Filla (feel the) power of the ‘Zilla!
Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
(It’s the) RAH RAW! power Can ya Filla!

Still comin’ at cha with a fiery force
Get in my way and I’ll take a different course.
or better yet go through you, I just might pummel through you!
Team me up? Then I’ll just have to go through two.
Power like a freight train! More power so you feel pain!
More power in my vein you have to strain just to maintain!
I’m not done yet, you better hold on boy!
I’m not done yet, You’re gonna get destroyed!

“so what cha gonna do now?”

Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
Filla, Filla (feel the) power of the ‘Zilla!
Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
(It’s the) RAH RAW! power Can ya Filla!

Some said I couldn’t do this, so I’m gonna crush them!
Some said I shouldn’t do this, so I’m gonna crush them!
Some said I wouldn’t do this, so I’m gonna crush them!
Some said I couldn’t do this? Yo! I’m gonna crush them!

Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
Feela, Feela (feel the) power of the ‘Zilla!
Crush ‘em Crush ‘em Crush ‘em like Godzilla!
(It’s the) RAH RAW! power Can ya Filla!

Lyrics to The Call by Yuri Wong x Burn

Verse 1:
I will always remember
Watching skies turn ruby red with you
And the day would surrender
Turn into the darkest blue

Just come with me
I’ll lead you out
Out after the light
Out into the night

We’ll see the stars shining through a cloud-filled sky

Chorus:
We used to dream ’bout tomorrow
Holding our breath for a finer day
A perfect day
Now, we don’t care ’bout tomorrow
We’re gonna answer the call today
I hear my name
It calls my name

Verse 2:
Nights cruisin’ the highway
Skies painted in black and gold now
We dreamed of Thursdays
Here’s to times we had untold

In our backyard
Watched cars go by
Out after the night
Out into the light

We’ll see the sun shining through a cloud-filled sky

-Repeat Chorus-

Bridge:
Here’s to the dark
Here’s to Arthur
Here’s to the times I won’t forget

-Repeat Chorus-

End:
We used to dream ’bout tomorrow
Holding our breath for tomorrow
Now we don’t care ’bout tomorrow
We’re gonna answer the call today
