In episode 5 of The Fung Brothers Mess with Texas, David and Andrew Fung compete in a Texas shoot-off and enjoy some grub in the episode entitled “Game Burgers and Guns”. At the shooting range, the brothers learn to fire rifles and have a competition. Whoever loses makes the winners lunch. For lunch, they get burgers made from some real big game. Watch them chow down on a bear burger. Will they like it or flinch?

“Hell’s Half Acre Burger”

1 ½ pound Elk Meat (ground)
1/2 pound Bear Meat (ground)
1 onion (chopped)
1 Tomato (chopped)
Mustard (to taste)
4 slices of American Cheese
Pickles (to taste)
Makes 4 Half Pound Burgers
Mix Elk meat, bear meat and pound half of the onions into the meat and form into patties. As the patties cook, sauté the tomatoes and additional onions. After one side of the meat is cooked, layer on the tomatoes, extra onions, and mustard. When the mustard is hot add a layer of American Cheese to seal the other condiments on the meat.
Butter toast the bun and add the meat, pickles, tomatoes, onions, cheese to the bun with extra mustard.
The recipe can also be made with straight ground beef.
