Zappos on Celebrity Apprentice

Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh was on Celebrity Apprentice yesterday. The challenge for teams KOTU and Athena was to make the best comic book character to represent Zappos.com.

Tony Hsieh explains that the Zappos brand is about the very best customer experience. They’ve partnered with Image Comics to provide each team with artists and editors for this week’s task: creating a comic book character to represent Zappos, along with a four-panel comic and the character’s costume. The teams will present their ideas to a focus group to get feedback, and Tony will pick the winner. The winning team will have their comic book character featured on the Zappos website. Watch the episode below.

Over the past few months, Tony has been on Oprah and Fox News. He even did an interview in the bathroom.

Secret Identities – The Blue Scorpion & Chung

From International Secret Agents we move to Secret Identities. This is the fourth of 8 trailers for Secret Identities. The chapter is entitled “The Blue Scorpion & Chung”, which can be found on Page 63 of SECRET IDENTITIES: The Asian American Superhero Anthology.

National Book Finalist writer Gene Yang (“American Born Chinese” – geneyang.com) and artist Sonny Liew (“Liquid City” – sonnyliew.com) explore the “second-banana/manservant/sidekick” relationship inspired by the 1960’s “Green Hornet & Kato” dynamic — which has been ingrained into our pop culture zeitgeist ever since. (Bruce Lee had the role of Kato in the Green Hornet.) Also check out the Making of The “Blue Scorpion & Chung” trailer.

International Secret Agents get detained

On day 1 of the International Secret Agents Outreach Tour last week in San Francisco, members of the Far East Movement and Wong Fu Productions got detained at the airport. Someone on the plane mistook the International Secret Agents talk as possibly a “terrorist” convo. It was like a scene straight out of “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.” channelAPA.com gets the low down from the Wong Fu Productions and Far East Movement. These guys went through a lot to put on a show for the fans.

Also check out Far East Movement’s blog for more details of the ISA outreach tour courtesy of KevNish. More videos from channelAPA.com coming soon.

Japa Dog in Vancouver

Azn Lifestyle TV made a video about Japa Dog in Vancouver. This hotdog stand serves up Japanese Style Hotdogs. You get your hotdog with toppings like teriyaki, seaweed, Japanese mayo, daikon, and more. Some celebrities have already stopped by the hotdog cart including Daniel Dae Kim from Lost, Ice Cube, and Steven Seagal. A few months ago Japa Dog was featured on ANTHONY BOURDAIN: NO RESERVATIONS on the Travel Channel.

Posting this is making us hungry for a Japa Dog. The future of Asian Fusion is definitely changing with Japa Dog and Kogi BBQ Truck. The change is not just the food, but how you sell it too.

Check out more about Japa Dog on their website here.
